Thank you @haylingbookstorm & @authorvellis for the free audio!

Holy Mafia & forbidden vibes! Dante and Giana are amazing characters. When the heat is on between these two - it is hotttttt. Dante is all about pleasing and protecting. I was so here for it. On top of all the spice, the action scenes were fantastic. The twists truly kept me so locked in. Giana's family royally irked me though hahaha, but it sure added a great dynamic to the book. Then that ending! I'm hooked and ready for book 2.

The audio was great and I'll definitely listen to the rest of the series. Check the triggers listed at the beginning of the book. The Mafia elements are detailed and great, just make sure it's for you before you start! πŸ™‚

I was eagerly anticipating the latest edition, thank you @entangled_publishing for an e-copy so that I could tandem read this beauty! Naturally, I had to get the audiobook as well. Let me tell you, the emotions conveyed by the narrators made me cry even harder than I did the first time! πŸ₯Ή

When I saw Max Monroe say this is unlike any of the other books we've written I'm still not sure that prepared me for this book. Not even a little bit lol

This story was so good from the beginning. It still had those moments of humor that I enjoy with their books. The characters are always so unique. This one was written with such a heartbreaking factor to it. I found myself sobbing multiple times. The conversations wrecked me. But the story also as a whole was so beautiful. I always connect with stories that are real or have hard topics. And this definitely had that. Getting a glimpse into the journey of Bennett and his daughter Summer. Then getting to see Norah come into the picture and how everything connected was so realistically brilliant.

I also loved the ending of this. I felt like it wrapped up how my heart needed it to. And seeing a flow into the next book with the side characters.. I'm so excited for it!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

- Suspense
- Small Town
- Forced Proximity
- Found Family
- Single Guardian
- Trauma & healing

Merritt's intense trauma at the start of the book really hooked me. Let’s just say her ex is the worst. She tries to escape her small town but finds herself pulled back to take care of her beloved nephew. Her brother has overdosed and isn’t fit to look after him at all.

Then there's Tristan, a local cop who is fiercely protective of Merritt. Their relationship unfolds beautifully in this slow-burn story. Alongside their romance, there’s a lot of personal growth happening too. I felt so many emotions throughout, and her nephew's journey was significant as well. They all deserved to have their stories shared, and the ending was just perfect!

Grateful to @lynnehugoauthor  @getredprbooks & @amphoraepublishing for the advanced copy!

This novel delves into a wide range of complex themes, including fertility struggles, adoption, workplace harassment, infidelity, death, biological parent grief, and the struggles of adopted children. All while questioning - does fate really guide us?

I found it absolutely fascinating to see the complexities of all the characters lives and how they revolved around one person who was adopted. Each carrying their own version of tragic stories and hardships that lead them to where they are. I thoroughly enjoyed the flashbacks and getting the full picture of past and present - it really connected me to the emotions that were portrayed.

Not everyone's situation is cookie cutter, nor will everyone's situation ever be the same. However I think this is a great one to pick up to see the complexities these themes can have on people's lives. I very much enjoyed it.
