This book hurt me in the best way possible. Marianne, my beloved, you deserve so much more.

Emotionally, I connected to this book and the characters so much more than I had expected. There was a certain humanity in it that curbed the harshness, nay, starkness of the science lessons through supper at 6.
If only life got together in such a manner as it did for Elizabeth. Although she had her fair share of trauma and grief, I think it was excellently portrayed.
My favorite character was definitely 6:30. Or maybe I'm just biased, pets in media always make me emotional.

As an emotional piece, considering interpersonal/character relationships, it was great. It captured my attention and delved into connections and histories in just the way I wanted it to. However, I craved a little more mystery and resolution towards the end.
Still good for a casual metro ride listen and would make for an interesting film.

I loved the narration. The variety of the point of views and different times of his life we could witness through others was genius.
His story with Hylas, my favorite quotes are from his chapters.
I didn't quite like how the ending was. It felt abrupt and lackluster. I know we could blame it on the myth itself but phrasing it differently through the perspectives would have made it more appealing in terms of shock factor.
but that's just my personal opinion 🧅
