Furiously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible Things by Jenny Lawson

Did not finish book. Stopped at 69%.
DNFing at 69% because 1. too much like my mother 0 stars. 2. This might be related to 1 but like people that think just being Zaney and themselves makes them super unique and the funniest person ever irks me. 3. I would have finished this but then I would have missed the opportunity to dnf at 69% and that’s the funniest thing about this book to me.

I had to pick the non cringe worthy cover but I did read this digitally. Hockey romance always feels like they border on misogyny about how they refer to women as “puck bunnies” every 5 seconds. Still cute, but like… women can like hockey without being vapid whores who want to fuck the players? 😂. Even our main character was like ashamed that she knew stats because she didn’t “want to come off as a stalker” and idk, like that annoyed me.

Okay 1. I loved every twist and turn in this book. The characters really shine and are built up perfectly. They’ve learned, they’ve grown, they’re ready.
2. I really really like that there isn’t dragon “mindspeak” I like that there’s a connection and that there’s a general feelings passed between the bond.
3. THE ENDING WAS LITERAL PERFECTION IN MY EYES. They’re still kids, and they don’t have to make life long commitments and get to focus on rebuilding their lives and their countries.

This was a WILD ride of a series. Start to finish, all tied up in a neat little bow. Besides all the murder, gore, rape, and general violence, I love Sarge and Ravi. And that LAST PAGE PISSED ME OFF, I WANTED MORE.
