I loved this. If only my experience with Canadian history in school was as engaging!

Very funny. I'm not sure if I loved how episodic it was. Made it go down easy, but I felt like it was difficult to get invested in it because I had so many natural stopping points. Took longer to read than I'd expected.

Very dramatic but doesn't really read YA. I read this with my 12 year-old, but I think I enjoyed it more than she did. Elizabeth was a super complex character that I really enjoyed and the writing was compelling. Lost a little steam in its last act and the ending was pretty abrupt, but the trip there was wild and much more fun a read than Shelley's Frankenstein. Highly recommended!

Body horror is right up my alley. Parts of it reminded me a lot of The Call that I read last year with the kid. Recommend!

Felt a little too juvenile; wasn't enjoying the writing.

Very, very cool literary technique
that's almost a spoiler by even mentioning it. I enjoyed this one.

This book made me feel bad because:
*I collect books I never read
*I log books I read on this site
*I am worn out from living and want to be stimulated or healed

It was okay for me. It was very quick and breezy and a little too precious for my tastes.

Great translation though!

Super boring. Introducing the world was fun in the first one, but this is just more of the same with the same semi-awkward language that's probably a translation issue.

I'll probably try the third one for a fresh start, but I think I might be done with this series otherwise.
