Felt like a drag does it’s the pace of the plot. Definitely not as good as the first. However the last 50 pages were wonderful. Worth the fight to finish for the ending. Will of course be reading the next one

I went through so many emotions while listening to this book. It broke my heart, it made me angry, it made me cry. This is a work of fiction based on the horrifying American era of Jim Crow Laws. Even though the story is fiction, the story itself is something that could have happened (and most likely has happened within America’s prison system).

Great twists. Literally such a fast read. Writing was easy, but wasn’t my favorite. Sometimes Nina and Millie felt like the same person but I think that was purposeful IYKYK. Ending was a perfect little bow.

If I could give this book 100 stars I would! Ugh I loved it! The spice, the humor, the love!!! Perfect book wrapped up in 141 pages. So happy with how they wrapped this story up. Loved the representation, and the first book I have ever read where I was actually rooting for the trope at the end.
