I loved this book— I wasn’t sure if I would since I was convinced to read it from Booktok and that has steered me wrong in the past BUT I was hooked. I completed it through a combo of e-reading and audiobook and that helped me power through (as it is long and has a lot of world building). I loved how it brought me back to my fantasy roots (anyone else read dragonology in elementary/middle school?) — the plot/action was a cross between Divergent and the Hunger Games and the love story/triangle was a cross between A Court of Mist and Fury and the Hunger Games, and the dragon aspect will wrap every person’s inner child in a whirlwind of adventure.

This book was fantastic — even the slower parts had me hooked. The twists, the turns, the tears, the laughs, the spice! Some plot points were predictable but I loved it so much I didn’t care. I always thought book two would be my tried and true — but this one takes the cake. I loved reading about Nesta and seeing her growth and I loved seeing her and Cassian’s storyline unfold on the pages.
Nesta’s a badass and saves the day like we all knew she would!!!

This was my favorite out of the three books in the series. I will say that it put me in my feels in the end and I wish we would’ve gotten more of an ending than we did. There was so much that could’ve been done but it was so rushed — entertaining nonetheless but I wanted more.

This book is entertaining enough to read but also painfully frustrating in a very relatable way.
