I really enjoyed this book. The beginning was a little slow for me but the inciting incident captured and held my attention. I love how developed and strong the female characters are. I think they add a lot to this story. There is a lot of great world building. Also, the interactions, or comparisons I guess, that Perrin and Rand have are just so funny and I loved that they kept coming up.

I think I’ll continue with the series later on down the line.

This book is a beautiful piece of art. The writing is poetic and dances between memory and narrative descriptions. I felt very close to some characters and distant from others. The love between Samuel and Isiah took my breath away while reading this book, and makes some of the gruesome and heartbreaking plot points that much more potent.
