I already know I am going to absolutely adore this series.....everyone was just so endearing and I wanna know what happens next.
This Ninjago chapter book was another very fun one. Is it for children? Absolutely. Do I care? Absolutely not.
Jay has always been in my top favorites from the entire Ninjago series and I really liked how this book accentuated his strengths rather than just making him a joke because yes, he's funny, but no it's not the only thing that Jay contributes to the ninja team. In solving the mystery of who hurt Lee in the second story, Jay was very witty and quick on his feet--which makes sense; he's the ninja of lightning and lightning is always quick, spontaneous, and never hits the same place twice. Jay's quick wit helped get the answer and not have the trouble fall on Lee.

Review: My Best Friend's Exorcism is a very good read about the lengths you'd go for your friends dressed up in a horror-based dressing.
The main character of the book, Abigail Rivers, has always been a loyal friend,, even when sometimes it would have been better to cut her losses and find new friends. Even in the beginning, when she was very hesitant on becoming Gretchen's friend, she accepted her and they were close ever since then. Abby went through some of the hardest things that she could in order to save Gretchen from her possession since Gretchen was her first true friend and it was very harrowing to watch everything in the universe tell her to give up--and she even begins to internalize it--but she didn't give up at all. She believed that her best friend was still there and in desperate need of help.
It was just a good read, arguably the best of the Grady Hendrix books I've read so far.

We Sold Our Souls was a very interesting read.
Kris as a main character was very interesting. She is a character that is sick of her life and uncertain by her future just to get haunted by her past. And then, when she starts to question things that happen, everyone who she could possibly go to claims that they don't know and that they don't believe her. Do they gaslight her? Yep, but it adds psycholoical horror to the entire book and having Kris wonder whether or not what she remembers is real, which is something that gets more horrific as more and more of her former bandmates do despicable things while doing that.
I loved all the metal references, a subculture that I adore. It's a very good read; it just has a lot of body horror in it, so be cautious if that is something that makes you squeamish.
