Firstly I’d like to thank Zarin for writing this book.
Second if like to offer a formal apology to everyone who knows me in real life. I’m sorry, but y’all are about to be sick of me because I absolutely LOVED this book!
This is YA romance that tells the story of Isaac and Violet, two students that bond over their shared birthday. After five years of meeting up in secret to celebrate their birthday, the two decide to explore something more between them. However, when Isaac doesn’t show up for their 17th birthday meeting the two break-up.
Forced to work together on a project in their final year, can these two rekindle what they had or is their relationship over for good?
This book tackles some heavy topics, abandonment and unsupportive parents, while tackling the end of high school stress of applying to college and figuring out what you want to do with your life.
The way this book put me in my feelings. It broke my heart and sewed it right back together. I might need to go to the dentist because this book was so sweet I might have a cavity.
When this book drops in July 9th, make sure you grab it!
Calling him a real n***** was to much for me

“You have to find your own way to be happy.
Whatever that means.“
The tears I cried while reading this book. 😭Hungry Ghost is a YA graphic novel that tells the story of Valerie Chu, an Asian American high school student, struggling with an eating disorder.
This book tackles a lot of heavy topics: toxic family dynamics and grief being amongst the big ones. The art was beautiful and I liked seeing Valerie learn to love herself and find her own happiness.

Alfie was such a book boyfriend! He tries so hard to be a lovable brooding bean. I don’t know how I felt about Mabel. She was bubbly and she gave dopamine decor vibes. However, she just didn’t appeal to me.this man is literally telling you talk to me and I’ll listen. But then you just refuse to say anything about the turmoil your feeling on the inside. 🙄
Minor: Alcoholism, Fatphobia, Death of parent

I really wanted to like Yinka, but I didn’t. She felt flat. She had so many strong female role models in her life and it felt like 31 was a bit late to be figuring out the woman you want to be when she has the resources and people to talk to that could’ve helped her. Her actions seemed more appropriate for that of a YA character than a grown woman but 🤷🏽♀️
Moderate: Death of parent
