Torj the Bear Slayer…my man!!!

I loveddd him and Wren. There was barely a slow burn but there was so much tension that made up for it. Took away a half star because I didn’t want it to end and I don’t want to wait for the next book

5 stars for Blake alone OMG… I love him. What an intriguing character. I wanted more of just him. I loved Callum but Blake was written so well that I fear I may be rooting for a throuple

Book 2 cannot come soon enough

I lovedddd this book. Absolutely devoured only to be disappointed at the end when I realized the next book isn’t out yet. Why do I do this to myself? I DON’T KNOW. But it was worth it. This book had me hooked from page one and by the end I was completely invested. This definitely gave Fourth Wing meets Game of Thrones meets Hunger Games vibes for me. At the VERY least, the author is a Game of Thrones for naming a character Stark in a book about dire wolves. All in all, a wonderful read and I plan on rereading it very soon.

After seeing this all over my tiktok with equal parts rave reviews and negative reviews, I knew I needed to set aside my TBR and read this to form my own opinion.

I am SO glad I did because holy moly…this was so good! I stayed up until 3 am to finish it. I love the unique story, the banter in this is so good. It definitely deserves allll the hype.

I’m a mood reader so I don’t look at nor care about if a book is a literary masterpiece. If a book hooks me in, I’m in regardless of writing style so I can’t speak to that aspect of the book.

I just added this to my physical collection and I’m so glad I did. Can’t wait for Book Two!!!

“The Shadows That Listen” by Louisa Carmody

Wow wow wow. For a debut, this blew me away! I was hooked from like 15% in. I love that the FMC is courageous and strong. She’s definitely the knight in shining armor here. Her [Amara] banter with Nathaniel the archangel was so good. It was very refreshing to read something that reminded me so much of the early 2010s dystopian era but was also so unique. I loved the modern elements too. I thought the writing was really well done and not cringey at all!!! My only complaint is I want to unknow this book just so I can meet it again. Well done. 5 stars
