I never really could get into this one, although I liked some of the ideas.
It has been many years since I read Card, and I'm glad I returned with this one. It had a nice combination of modernity and fantasy. I look forward to more in the series.
I really enjoy Throwing Muses and can remember much of the era Kristin is talking about in this book, but as a narrative it seems a bit too rambling and not terribly interesting.
I heard Kristin on an NPR interview and thought the book sounded interesting. I don't really know much about farming or the business associated with it. This was informative and well written.
I think I heard about this book in the NY Times Book Review. It sounded interesting and it was. Lots of cool little facts. She writes very well, keeping the reader entertained.
This was a pretty cool idea. I bet it would make a good movie. It would have been pretty easy to make the famous warriors cartoonish, but there was some good complexity here.
This was my favorite of the series. It had alot of good hard sf elements, but also some well drawn out characters. It didn't seem to connect much to the first book, but then I guess that was what the third book is for.
I learned alot about WWII events while reading this book, but I found myself getting a little annoyed with the characters. Time travel books are usually kinda fun though.
This was sort of an interesting premise, but I finally got a little tired of the prose and the characters.
This was alot of fun. I learned more about Abe's history, while at the same time following along with what was portrayed as a perfectly rational explanation for his actions. I liked the use of "historical" diary entries.
