I feel like the title poem (which I knew the author by) has a very different vibe to almost all other poems in this collection (they are all so sad!). I enjoy her rythmn and rhymes, but I guess sometimes reading more from the writer of one of your favourite poems does not go so well 😂 I feel like many of the poems have a very bleak outlook on love and life, which was not what i was looking for.

Starts cute and has strong fable vibes. I did not expect how extra it got, but I liked the magical-ness. Read it in one sitting. I think it has a deeper meaning than what I gathered from my first readthrough, but from how I interpret it now it lost me at the end ideologically. Feels a bit cultish. (and where are those female seagulls!! 😂 They can also fly you know - *feminist fist shaking*)

Meh. Wouldn't have finished it if I had read it physically.

Was ich gerne vorher gewusst hätte:

This book is.... Poetic. Breathtaking. It invites you to look at nature and enjoy every little bit but also calls you out for romanticising it. It's unapologetic, heartfelt and magical, brutally real and funny at the same time. Each chapter is like a riddle to find out what perspective it is written out of, not just from the humans living in this region, but everyone and everything around them. The chapters are incredibly diverse but also coherent.
I started again to take notes, to give it the time it needs. The long list of names and constant perspective changes makes it hard to read casually, so readers should pick it up when they have enough space for the book to take root.
