I had no idea this book existed two weeks ago and I read it on a whim. Sooooooo good! 10/10
A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas

This was the best book of the series. Fight me. One of the most satisfying character arcs I have ever read. Nesta is that b**ch!! Cas and her are ghost pepper hot. Scolding hot! Anyways... is this the end?
Beauty's Kingdom by A.N. Roquelaure

Too many povs for me but I felt invested in the series and needed to finish. Predictable ending but not terrible.
Kushiel's Dart by Jacqueline Carey

This book has over 90 chapters. I would recommend picking up this series when you can read with as few distractions as possible. Though the world building was elaborate and the story was very interesting I still struggled to get through it. I will try the second book later in the fall when life is more calm.
Romancing Mister Bridgerton by Julia Quinn

I could read more books just about Collin and Penelope.
A Worthy Opponent by Katee Robert

Great spice but I did not like that the fmc was worried about being fat.

This one feels different then the others. Good spice but something about the writing style was off. (Written at like 2am)

I thought about it and it was because starting in this book the color of characters skin was stated. Nothing wrong with that, ever. More representation in all genres of story telling is needed. As a black woman myself and it felt repetitive. Almost like it was overly explained for non BIPOC readers. I could be wrong. But the only other logical explanation I can think of is that the common themes in this series is Easter eggs. Like humongous eggs painted in neon glow in the dark colors. Which is cool. So while reading this book I assumed labeling people as Black, brown and white, not just once but the same characters over and over, because book five "The Sea Witch" must have a BIPOC mc. Reading it now and yes it does but again it's mentioned over and over in a non creatively spicy manner. Feeling very watered down for a non BIPOC audience. Repetitive simplification of race is just not necessary.
