I had the opportunity of reading Setting The World On Fire curtsey of the Author Maggie Au.
It comes with some trigger warnings of abuse, assault, rape, and drugs.
It was a good premise for the story. I found it a little unbelievable that a 17 year old in this day and age would be so naive and unaware of things such as, drugs, sex and clubs. I also found the writing to be very juvenile, the language and writing style made me feel like a very young person had wrote the story. It was however a good read with an ending that tied everything together.
Rebecca a 17 year old catholic school girl of a millionaire had her whole life planned and handed to her. Until one day when she decided to venture out of the norm and the world she knew. She met the boys, Beau, Jai and Kal, brothers. Rebecca became intrigued by them and eventually they all became friends. Becca lying and hiding their friendship to her family. The boys called her Becca. They ended up manipulating the naive Becca into giving them money for dugs and alcoholic. As Becca fell in love with Kal she started entering into the lifestyle of drugs and alcohol. Everything begain sprialling out of control when her father decided to disown her. That was what Becca thought would be the lowest point in her life, until she ended up on the street and ultimately beginning abandoned by the boys. However Becca strived to be better, and ended up the happiest she had ever been.

Trigger warning:rape

Stalker had me hooked right from the first chapter where we find out the main character is in Jail. Then we jump back in time a couple of months and find out a horrible incident occurred to the main character. How did the victim suddenly become the accused? In a Now and Then format the story slowly unfolds. It was am intense, fast paced captivating narrative. I could not put this one down. Gemma Rogers I applaud your courage for writing gritty thrillers because of the traumatic event that happened to you nearly twenty years ago.

Eve's life is completely shattered, ripped apart and turned upside down on the way to the train station one Sunday morning on her way to meet a friend. Jumped from behind Eve is brutally attacked and raped. Eve tries to get her life back on track but she has terrible functioning in the real world. Last year I read my first book by Gemma Rogers called Stalker so when I had the opportunity to read Payback I was so excited!

It did not dissappoint! Set in dual time lines we follow Sophie. The first timeline is set in 1997 where Sophie and her teenage friends decide to make a pact to meet at a house her father is selling. The Pact to pair up together and lose their virginity before they finish highschool, no strings attached, no pregnancies, and no one tells anyone! Nothing could possibly go wrong in this senerio right?
Then 20 years later this group in brought back together when one of them dies in a car accident. Sophie starts to get strange messages and weird things start occuring to not only her but some of the others involved in that crazy night in 1997.
Payback is a great thriller! I was hooked right from the start and devoured this as I just needed to find out both what unfolded in 1997, and who was behind the messages 20 years later. Definitely would recommend to my thriller loving friends!

In September I read The Keeper by Diane Saxon that I loved, my review can be found on my feed or on goodreads. So needless to say I was so excited to read Copycat to follow along on Jenna Morgans journey. Copycat seemed to have a bit of a slow start for me ands didn't captivate me right from the beginning like The Keeper. It wasn't until about 15% into the book that I got really interested. From that point it was full of suspense and became very addictive much like her last novel.

Jenna and her team are called to a murder scene. Her ex partner may be the last to have seen the victim alive. The scene starts to remind them of a similar case, however the murderer is serving life, could this perhaps be a copycat? This wasn't the only victim, just the first in a string of red headed nurses. Full of twists and turns as we follow along with the detectives investigating the case. Definitely recommend if you are a fan of a page turner police procedural

Review coming

Look At Me now is a fun, light, cute, quick chick lit read. I laughed, it was cheezy and I definitely connected with the main characters realness to the situations she was going through.

We begin by meeting Gracie, unsure of her relationship and her current job. Gracie actually ends up getting a promotion for a new television show with her best friend, although a little unsure of the shows new twist she decides to embrace it. However her life at home couldn't be worse. Gracie ultimately decides to end it with her current boyfriend Jordan, but what does that mean for the new show? After the breakup Gracie experiments with some new endeavors as she is finding herself again. She hits some major bumps in the road, but comes out even higher by becoming a much stronger and independent woman in the end. Gracie goes through lows, highs, but in the end she finds herself and happiness. I would highly recommend this funny, kind of cheezy romance to anyone looking for a light fluffy quick read.

This was a great book to read as a family, the graphics were gorgeous, we were able to learn information about specific animals in the book and taught us many things. I enjoyed the themes being friendship, kindness and helping others when you are down. A great book for young readers teaching them important life values that you need to know in day to day life. Always believe in yourself. Asked my three year old What was your favorite part : when the giraffes neck got so big Asked my 2 year old her favorite part: fire!

This is one book that I wasnt really sure where there story was taking me, it kept me intrigued and engrossed and wanting to really discover more of Amy's story. Although it was a very slow burn for me I enjoyed the overall messages of the story. It was a well written story about second chances and friendship. I enjoyed seeing how much support Amy received, the great friendships she built and the relationship she had with her son Joey. I loved how Joey was the real reason for Amy to finally take so many steps, that before were so paralyzing for her. The secondary characters really bright so much more depth to the story

Trigger warning this book contains scenes involving sexual assault, human trafficking and violence.

In Plain Sight is a fast paced read, even though it focuses on such a difficult subject it is well written and doesn't glorify human trafficking. It offers a realistic look into such a dark world without glanorizing or sensationalized the taboo subject. It also helps bring awareness to what victims must suffer. A story of hope, perseverance , survival and determination.

Isabel just turned 13 with her mom dead and dad in jail she's living with her aunt. Then Isabel is discovered missing, Captured and taken into a sex trafficking ring. Mabel kicks into the fierce fighter she is and starts looking for Isabel. Will Mabel be able to find Isabel before its too late?

Holy cow was this book ever amazing. Classified as women's fiction/thriller. It had a little bit of everything, time travel, love story, thriller. The writing style was so enjoyable, going from the story line with letters from the scientist thrown in.
Kaley is opening a museum all about Tesla and his inventions. While putting the exhibits together she stumbles across a diary no one knows about. Inside this diary is letters about Tesla's adventures in time travel. Could this be real or truly just fantasy. As Kaley digs deeper she is sure that time travel is possible, and she is going to tru and prove it to go back to her past. Before she tries she needs one more oscillator and she knows just the person from her past to help. Her college boyfriend, Scott. Kaley confides in Scott her plan and their relationship seems to begin to blossom again. Except things don't quite too plan. Some major twists happen that end up changing present day. Will Kaley keep the time travel a secret like Telsa or will she become a huge celebrity sharing her findings with the world.
This novel sucked me right in, I felt for Kaley and her intentions of wanting to prove time travel. I felt her sorrow when she was ultimately betrayed by Scott and got a glimpse of who be truly was. The twists and turns I really didn't see coming. This was a fun thrilling read that I would definitely recommend.
