I loved this book! It was written so well! When is the last time you found a murder mysterious actually funny? My favorite thing about this was the main character constantly breaking the fourth wall and talking to us directly.
I love Fourth Wing and I liked this book. It was a big read. Very long but I still enjoyed it. The cliffhangers and the end always leave me wanting more in the best way. The FMC is infuriating and that’s a theme that doesn’t seem to end, I wish she would learn to communicate better or just let stuff go. The MMC is also infuriating in a way that I understand. The plot is amazing, although I do think there was a lot of unnecessary dialogue that made the book longer.
Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

I picked up this books because I heard so many good things about it. This book had me on my toes and had me swirling with theories and ideas. I read this as a buddy read and it made it so much more enjoyable to talk about theories and discoveries with someone else. The twist was good and not something that was too far fetched. It was very believed. The FMC and MMC were so perplexing. Both of their povs added so many different depths and theories that kept the story going strong. There was no real favorites in this book and that’s a good thing! No character stuck out more than another and that’s what made the plot and finale so believable. It all added up and made sense in the end. I wish the twist was more shocking like other murder mysteries I have read but the build up in this book is what made you stay on your toes and keep your heart rate moving. The jaw drop wasn’t as climatic as I thought it would be for this book.
This was a quick read but a good quick read. It made me angry, sad and laugh in less than 200 pages. I even shed a tear towards the end. The FMC is painfully independent and the MMC is painfully overprotective; they’re both increasingly stubborn. You can imagine the constant power struggle they’re always in. Regardless, the integration of the mortal and magical work was seamless, at it always is with this series. Plus, I love seeing characters from the other books that I’ve grown to love in the timeline but from a different perspective.
