Interesting enough I guess, but I couldn't believe how hard she was fighting for this trash guy.

I found the narrator's flat even tone appropriate for the book as there is no emotion in the writing, despite the book largely focusing on the character's fascination with a writer. There is no plot. It's basic recallings of the main character's stale childhood in between factual, bland conversations with one of her friends - in no particular or meaningful order. There are some nice quotes and thoughts to chew on, but they are not grounded in anything, so they don't stick with the reader. The main character is also a pathological liar, constantly making up stories about her life to those close to her and plays quite a lot of mind games. I can't recall any moments of satisfaction for her, or none that felt satisfying to me as the reader at least, and I found her motivations shallow and annoying - to impress people will eventually fade from her life.
