I enjoyed the layers of people, relationships and perspectives in this book. I struggled with the audio narration; for me the lilt at the end of most sentences felt wrong - like someone reading the book to themselves, rather than as a book narrator. I lowered my rating for this reason.

I could not put this book down; was compelled to finish it quicker than usual… the weaving together of different characters’ lives and stories was a beautiful and deep. This book made me feel things deeply; struck a beautiful and necessary chord.

I found the content of this book interesting and I was compelled to finish it… Best of all, I liked her personal story of a trip to Greece with an important family member in the epilogue… this past really tied the book together for me.

Throughout this audiobook, I found myself distracted by the narration style (and sad about it because I appreciate when authors read their own work). The narration at the end of he book felt better for me, more authentic-feeling.
