A Whisper in the Woods by Elise Nelson

I enjoyed this story to a point. I like the retelling aspect of it. I liked the characters and how great they interacted with each other. The only downfall of this story, I felt, was the way it was written. Although it was understandable and easy to follow, it seemed like it was missing something, but sometimes it felt rushed. It wasn't awful just needs some tweaking.

"Why, exactly, did I waste years of my life dating guys my age? Sexy older Scottish men are obviously the way to go."
Briar is just trying to stay alive and get away from her past and family. She goes to Shadow Security for help and gets way more than she expects.
I like Briar but to me, she doesn't seem like your typical Omega but that also could be because of her past. I love Keir and his Scottish accent with Daddy vibes. Calder is the sweet adorable nerd. I'm unsure about Easton. He is basically a psychopath until he meets Briar. Then he does show some emotions towards her. The plot is entertaining, especially with the appearance of some characters from another book. Overall this is a great read.

"Run and hide as best you can, baby. Tonight, we're going hunting, and make no mistake, Mellie,
you are our fu**ing prey."
All Mellie wants is love with a man like the relationship she has with her three best friends. Can one night change that?
I loved this book. If you want a quick dirty read this book is for you. The characters were great, especially the men. They are all so different but work great together. I enjoyed the plot and the twist with the dating show. I enjoyed how this book ended. Great read!!

"Not only did I kiss him, I did it in front of the boy who took my virginity and my f*cking
husband"
This book starts a year after the first book finishes but with a different set of main characters. Vivian just wants to take down the Saints from the inside and do it with the people she loves far from her to keep them safe. Her brother Vox and his best friends have different ideas.
I love Vivian and how strong and ruthless she is. She is kinda an evil genius with how she sets everything up. Her men in this book are more prominent but we still get Vox from time to time.
"Archer is my protector, Hayze is the one that soothes my soul, and Ez, well, he's the one that
keeps me grounded." I like them all but there were times when I thought Archer was a d*ckhead. Vox is still my favorite although we get a glimpse of the butcher who might give him a run for his money. I enjoyed the plot. It was entertaining and easy to follow along. The only thing I hated was how and why David had to die. I was unsure of his loyalty in the beginning but he turns out to be awesome. Great read and I can't wait for book 3.

Perfect read for Valentine's day if your into paranormal, even if your not. It is a great quick read with spice that doesn't take over the whole story. Its a perfect mix of plot to spice. Great story except there names were a little unoriginal.

I liked the first couple of chapters. The middle was wtf and the ending left me wanting more. I loved Emme in the first book but in this one, she seems like a totally different person. I get that people change but she was so determined in book 1 not to mate. I get why she did with Kellen but the minute she did she just rolls over and mates Hunter. I do love her guys except Finley needs to figure out his stuff. I understand past trauma but the way he holds on to things is crazy. Of course, this ends on a cliffhanger with a crazy twist I didn't see coming.

"On my first day as a Descendant, I'd nearly murdered a slew of people. On my second, I'd inspired a nation. On the third, I'd failed to do even the most basic task."
All Thea wants is to remember who or where she came from and why she did what she did. Everyone else seems to want to use her or kill her.
This book was kinda on the slow side for me. I enjoyed the plot but it seems to take a while to get to the good parts. I do enjoy all the characters and how each one is unique. Really liked the mythical elements to it. The plot twist at the end was unexpected but makes sense.

"They might have turned me into a creature I don't recognize, but the real monsters here are the men who kidnapped me."
All Fritz wants is a mate just like his friends, Creed and Rhett. The only problem is he wants a monstrous hybrid female. Holly escaped the facility and purgatory, now she just wants to find her mate.
This book happens after the first two books. Fritz is your cinnamon roll male. He is a wonderful character with a bathroom I'd kill for. I love Holly and how awesome the author made her. She has some unique qualities. I would say she is a happy mix of Creed's psycho and Rhett's humanity. I enjoyed the plot of this book. The only thing that left me wondering is Holly and purgatory. I mean it was implied why but I would've liked more explanation on how and why. Of course, the author teases us again with the 4 horsemen. I want their book, please. Overall a good read.

All Evie wants to do is keep her promise to her mother and keep her safe. But she is kidnapped by vampires and now Evie has to get her back.
This is my first time reading this author and I wasn't disappointed. I liked Evie and how she can handle herself but she gets one thing after the other thrown at her I am surprised she hasn't given up yet. I could do without the males in this story. I swear everyone has a hidden agenda that involves using Evie in some form or another. Blake has some redeeming qualities but he still treats her badly just because of something she doesn't have control over. I enjoyed the ending because that needed to be done. I hope that in book 2 something happens to Silas for what he has done. Great read.

Whispers of the Dragon by Sarah Brianne

I liked the story/plot of this book. It was interesting how the dragon's life was represented in the physical world. The thing that bothered me was the writing. It was too fast-paced and I think not descriptive enough. For example, I am assuming the characters are Japanese by the cover of the book and the tree but I don't know because the author never tells us. I know the MMC is huge and FMC has scares but still beautiful. This book has great potential.
