I barely finished this book. I lived the idea of it but I wish there was more story and less constant sex. Plus, the fact that while she was only trying to get to her family to make sure they were safe, the guys were always making it about them. Graham especially was very Me, me, me, and "did you even consider how it made Me feel?!“ about it. He would get pissy and take everything so damn personal. I found him totally obnoxious.
What to say about this book? I enjoyed the storyline and loved all the subtle hints toward the story of The Lion King. It was like finding Easter eggs throughout the book. I liked Sarah's character overall, I had love-hate feelings toward Tristan.
It was a fairly violent book which is not really my thing but it didn't stop me from reading it. I also felt the spice overwhelmed the story at times. I enjoy spice, believe me, but I don't enjoy when it completely overshadows the story or makes up half of the plot unnecessarily.
I honestly was surprised how much I really loved this book! I so enjoyed Haydens personality. He wasn't the typical guy in these romance books where he's just sex sex sex and all right away. He was so respectful, so intentional with his moves to win over Adalyn. He began with her mind, then her heart, and then her body. Adalyn was a little skittish but I loved her. She also took her time with their romance but when she was ready to take it further before Hayden was ready, she turned into a little vixen which lead to some fun and sexy interactions. The spicy scenes were amazingly hot but they didn't take over the entire book or overshadow the solid storyline. I just loved the entire thing!
