I made it 9 hours in and I stopped after the part was over. It just wasn't interesting enough and relies so heavily on the grishaverse books, it's like I'm just reading them again. Nina's undercover work in Fjerda is interesting but it moves so slowly and the chapters don't have enough action so I lost interest. I feel like I can just read the wiki and be content with what happened. I like the series and the characters, but it feels like nothing happened in either of the King of Scars Duology.

Pashov and stacey are not my favorite and this story was interesting but I wasn't super invested. The amnesia aspect and learning how to re love someone that you are in love with was interesting, but I just wasn't super engaged. I was more interested in the world building that was happening during it.

It doesn't live up to the six of crows series unfortunately, this series taking place after those books. I'm glad that Nina is brought back in this series and we are following her refinding herself and her powers. I got emotional at Matthias final goodbye scene. The series introduced so many new elements with the way gods and saints work that I don't quite understand it and honestly I'm confused with why the Darkling is back and now amplifiers are everywhere? It seems just like simple explanation to be able to have convenient things happen. Nikolai and Zoya are charming and fun to watch, obviously they will end up together.

A fine end for the trilogy, it neatly packed up all the loose threads while still leaving enough questions about the world for me to be interested in her other books. This book was very romantic, and even though I understood it's role in the book it got a little boring at times. I loved going into lore about the Darkling and his family history, and liked how complicated of a villain he was.

Taushen is finally back, I hated how he became such a jaded and bitter character over these past few books and with the time skipping. Brooke is blunt and fun to read and honesty their first sex scene in the very beginning caught me off guard but I was here for it. The playful teasing was endearing and their development on their journey together felt fun and natural. The introduction of the 16 new characters and kind of ruined the series for me, only because I'm not ready to read that much more of them. I don't know if I will finish the rest of this series, as of right now all the characters that I was interested in relationships has happened.

Kate and Harrec were fun to read, the teasing and competitive flirting was fun to read. Kate's to much in her own head, but they have such fun banter it was fun to read. Harrec's fear of his own blood was used as a comedic device as well and a moment for character development, which was nice to read. I also appreciated that Kate is a capable and strong character. Most of the other women are seen as weak and homely, but Kate is strong and literally carried Harrec on her back to save him.

Farli is of course a favorite of mine and it was refreshing to have the culture shock relationship back between her and Murdok. The world building was also great, started to explain what's going on in other places. I knew that her wasn't going to leave her from the beginning so that suspense didn't really hit with me. Overall it was nice to see a bit of role reversal with Farli being the native and murdok being the outsider.

Asha and Hemalo are a nice side couple, and I think this was a great book to just kind of round out their story and flesh them out a bit more. Asha is such a complicated character and it was nice to see everything from her perspective and see why she has this reputation. They balance each other out well and I like how they both were truly struggling and showed growth to learn how to really work with each other.

Lila and Rokan were cute. I liked the introduction of a deaf character and even more that the khui did not fix it, emphasizing that lila could still live a proper life without it. Lila was a sweet and capable character and I enjoyed the growth that her and Rokan had. I also enjoyed her and Maddie's relationship and how it grew and changed. Overall not my favorite couple, but definitely up there. I also love how we are discovering new things about the planet and I hope we find more feature.

Harlow and Rukh were cute a little problematic but that comes with the territory of the likve caveman and modern woman trope. Rukh took a minute to grow on my but once he did I likes the 2 of them together. I felt really bad for Harlow's injuries throughout the book it seemed like she kept getting more shit piled on her.
