This book wasn't what I expected. Despite the magic realism that was more prevalent than I expected, this book drew me in for it's drama. The family secrets and drama with family members were just over the top and honestly infuriated me, but kept me thinking about the book and wondered what would happen next. Towards the end it kind of dragged, there were multiple places where i felt the book could have stopped but then would continue to tie up details that I had completely forgot about and after reading would have been upset had it ended where I thought it could have. The ending itself was nice and tidy and wrapped up all the details rather nicely. I did have a qualm with the little detail given about the characters, it was hard for me to imagine them. I loved the cover, and truly enjoyed the emotions this book made me feel.

This book was odd to say the least. There were stories that were insightful and stories that just went over my head. Over all though, they all made me think. About my body, about my mind, about how those in my life interact with the two. Definitely thought provoking, and interesting. The two in particular I enjoyed were The Husband Stitch and Difficult at Parties. One thing though, because quite a bit of it went over my head it got slow at times. Otherwise I enjoyed it.

This book was complex. I got lost multiple times. For some reason I had a really hard time wrapping my head around it being contemporary. The sisters having cell phones and cars kept bringing me out of the story. But the over all descriptions and writing style was gorgeous, it was a little hard to grasp visually when it came to Iris's gift but I did really enjoy this.

This book was cute in a few places, but over all I found it frustrating. Delilah was hard to connect with and more often than not I found her selfish and frustrating. The lack of adult figures in this book is hard to believe, and so is Delilah running her dad's cafe for months while he's traveling. And he never find out?! Wtf? I feel like that's sending a bad message in which if you fuck up just find a way to fix it then you don't have to say anything.
