I enjoyed this over all, it was very informative in the sense that there was some interesting little facts through out the book, from technology to making sourdough, to a Lois Club branch in San Francisco. But as interesting as the book was I still didn't feel much of a connection with Lois. I don't know how to explain it. She had various emotion's but the all seemed very minuscule that if something didn't go her way she'd be very level headed in figure out how to solve her problem....which is fine but it doesn't leave me much to connect with. She seemed very monotone in what she did, I got that she was happier making sourdough but to the point of moving to Berlin to find Beo to learn how to cook under him seemed very out of the blue. When Old Lois says to "go, just look at yourself when you speak about him." It felt completely random. Which left me wanting more of a back and forth of emails between Lois and Beo to back up that statement. There was a hint of it. But because Lois never mentioned it in her narrative I felt like it wasn't all that important.

A little slow in the beginning and quickly picked up and made it hard for me to put down as I started to figure out the timeline. What I enjoyed most of all from this book was the want to do research, the want to learn more about the unfairness, of the media, of the politics. To educate myself on the culture, the family aspects, the traditions, the religion. A true eye opener.

Very cute, a little hard to get into/invested in the characters as the story was more "magic" building than anything. But it did pick up towards the end when the Misfits' magic tricks came into play. I also found it odd that Harris would explain some words through out the book but leave others that I would think a kid would need help understanding, alone. Over all enjoy'd this book, will be picking up the second when it comes out.
