Difficult, but important book. I had a hard time with it, as I do with all nonfiction, but I appreciate it immensely for what it is. 

I found the first half very challenging but important, and the second half a touch too academic but incredibly  fascinating. Brain was on overdrive.

WOW what a cocktail of emotion and gorgeous writing and just - I felt like a cat basking slowly and lazily in the afternoon sun. 

Addie Larue is meant to be enjoyed slowly - you sip this liquor, you don’t shoot it. It’s like a rich whiskey

But the most interesting part is that for me, the book needs to invite me to slow down. It needs to show me that it’s worth slowing down for. I’m not typically a fan of slow books.
