I devoured this in one day only to find out it just came out and volume 2 isn't out yet... How will I survive the wait?

I love how it tackles the struggles of a teenager at her last year of school ; what will become of her relationship? What does she want to do with her life? What about college?

She also questions her worth as a detective

I found that it tied really well into the main story. Another one please and thank you 👀

Honestly the violence against the LGBT made me uncomfortable and I considered DNFing the book quite a few times as it felt gratuitous, and without purpose.

I kept telling myself that there HAD to be a purpose and it's why I finished it. But no. It fell flat and left me bitter and feeling sad.

As always, the new installation of Wayward Children stays with you after reading.  It touches hard subjects (check the triggers for each volume) that can be lived in childhood in such an empathetic way and shows how children cope with living through these events.

It was somehow both too casual to be academic and too academic to be casual.

While very informative, it was such a niche subject that the information itself became redundant

It's fun to see a prequel, but I do find that it falls flat compared to the first one. It was still a solid 4 stars and I enjoyed my cozy time in the bookshop
