The Prince of Terrana was a breath of fresh air to the romance fantasy genre.

Often times authors info dump lore (and yeah sometimes it's cool, but...) that racks up page numbers and doesn't have anything to do with the plot; however, Hayley does not do that! Everything is necessary to the story.

What I love about the characters in this book is that they are relatable and make choices like normal people would. They get nervous, upset, angry, and feel love. In one of the important fighting scenes, one of the characters shakes from nerves before he heads off into the fight. It was nice to see a character anxious before heading off to their possible death.

Finally, I really enjoyed the pacing of this book. I would say it is medium paced and I enjoyed every second of my reading. I'm looking forward to reading it again and reading the next book of the series.
