If someone had told me that this wuthering heights retelling had supernatural and mythological beings in it, I probably would have jumped to reading it sooner!
If i'm being perfectly honest, it was a little tough to get into because it starts out pretty slow to set the story up, but once things pick up its super enjoyable!
This book is definitely intended for a mature audience, with multiple spicy scenes that are descriptive. Nothing crazy kinky, just descriptive.
I enjoyed this book overall! I would absolutely recommend it for someone looking to spice up a classic tale with a little ooh la la, and a lot of supernatural.

This book was a great read! a good beginning to a brand new series.
Good world building, delicious tension, good plot, and interesting characters. I liked that while we don't exactly know what's going to happen in book 2, the ending wasn't a big-cliffhanger style.. more like an introduction to how House Phoenix's next journey will start, and the potential problems that Opie is most certainly going to run into in Harlow's absence.
Typhon and Liam? am I sensing some why choose, or a serious love triangle in the future?? Anyone else 🤣

Such a great plot!! The characters were good, the pace was good, and the cliffhanger was STEEP for how the next book is going to go- but I definitely called the "role" Samara is going to play in a sense- which has me wondering if all voids could have some degree of the power she is learning about... if turned?
Psyched for book 2! What a strong start! A++

I thought that some aspects of the plot were a bit of a stretch but I really enjoyed the dynamic between the characters! Maeve and Slate have great chemistry and the relationship blooming between Briar and Maeve is also super sweet. The relationship Maeve has with her parents is complicated, which certainly explains some of the traits and choices she makes and also explains why her relationship with Carter lasted as long as it did, and potentially longer without Slate's appearance in her life.
I'm happy with how this installment ended and look forward to the next one with Rhett!

ADAM!! 🥰
Anyways- the soap opera continues, focusing on the Devereaux sisters. The title is super reflective of the relationships we see blooming here, and I thought that was pretty clever.
I enjoyed this installment a lot. there was a lot going on and multiple POV's, but it was still easy to follow and thoroughly entertaining. Maybe next time I'll try doing the tandem read!
