5 ⭐ Did I really just give an alien erotica story 5-stars? Yes. Yes I did.
4.5 ⭐ A fantastically ridiculous alien romance that stole my heart
Trigger Warning: Rape and violence. The rape happens in chapter one (pg 10-11 KU) to a secondary character.
I started reading as a joke, but it's not a joke anymore!

2 ⭐ Interesting story with cringy dialogue by the romantic interest
This book was not for me. I'm not really big into sport romance books, but I didn't care about this story and won't read the other books in the series since I was told this was the best one.
Summary:
Tired of living her carefully planned life, Sophie Mitchell makes a Fuck It List before joining her father during his Formula 1 racing tour. While some items on this list are relatively easy to accomplish, like 'try new food,' others require a bit more courage, like 'have outdoor sex.' When Sophie bumps into Liam Zanders, F1 racer for her dad's rival team and totally off-limits, he makes it his mission to help her complete this naughty bucket list.
Trying to secure a Formula 1 contract and avoid bad press, Liam decides to "keep his dick out of the papers." However, that plan goes to hell when he sees Sophie. Her innocence draws him in, tempting him to corrupt her. And even though he should stay away, Liam discovers Sophie's Fuck It List and eagerly volunteers his friendship/services to help her finally live wild and free.
My Thoughts:
What I liked . . .
The F1 setting. I don't know much about the F1 world, but I found it fascinating! The combination of racing and travel really gave the story a sexy vibe.
Sophie's growth and personality. I actually really LOVE Sophie. Her character was well-developed and relatable. She is sweet, smart, strong, and quirky. Sophie is in the midst of finding herself and discovering what it's like to live free. It's a bit of a coming of age story with adventure and sex.
What I didn't. . .
The story was extremely predictable *Yawn*. It's obvious what will eventually happen between Sophie and Liam, and it was easy to figure out the drama concerning his deal/contract.
Liam was the worst part of this story. Don't get me wrong, I actually like him with Sophie, but only once I accepted that I would personally hate him if it were me. His character was just so awkwardly unrealistic. . . like the things he says are so weird. I'm 28 years old, experienced, and well-traveled, but I've never heard a man talk the way Liam does. It's as if the author has no idea how to write attractive characters. His dirty thoughts and flirting were straight out of some shitty C-rated shows like Blue Mountain State or Spartacus. For example:
"I don't race in F1 for the drama. No, I race for trophies, titles, and titties. . . " - An award-winning alliteration.

4-Stars ⭐️ Sexy, fun, easy-read
"Respect could build an empire. Trust could make it unbreakable. Love could make it last forever."
A Touch of Darkness was my first Persephone x Hades retelling, and I absolutely LOVED it! I actually read it straight through in one sitting.
Is this a well-written, meaningful romance story? Hell no. But is it fun and smutty? Hell yeah!
If you're looking for something light to read that's heavily sprinkled with sexual tension, then A Touch of Darkness will hit the spot. Just know, the romance is the driving force behind the story, so don't expect much else and enjoy it for what it is.
*SPOILERS*
Things I liked:
The modern setting. As someone who knows a lot about Greek mythology, it was fun to imagine how the gods would integrate themselves into a modern world. From the electric clubs to the bustling Acropolis to the beautiful Underworld, it was a fascinating world to discover.
The Romance / Smut. Persephone and Hades are the epitomai of two people completely lost in their lust for one another. There's so much sexual tension, the banter is great, and the smut is excellent *chefs kiss*. If anything, I wanted even more smut, but I'll just have to read the second book in the series!

My Thoughts:
This was such a fun and sexy story that dove way deeper into the Deviant Kings world and left me craving more. Seriously, The Vicious King (book 3) sounds incredible and I'm so glad we only have to wait a few months till it's release on December 5th!
What I liked:
Tiernan and his journey to becoming king. Tiernan has a boyish charm you can't help but love, a sharp mind, and a big heart - all qualities that make a great leader. No one wants the crown less than Tiernan, but unfortunately, it's fallen into his lap. And over time, with the help of a few friends, he accepts his responsibilities and realizes that maybe the Night Court needs a king just like him.
Fiona and her story. Fiona was a sweet secondary character from the first book who we hardly knew anything about, and this book did a fantastic job diving into her character. I love her kindness and caring nature towards others, her bravery and willingness to do what she can to help, and her fire and passion. She also has a complicated past with many twists and turns I didn't expect, so getting to know her was a blast!
The romance. Tiernan and Fiona are the epitome of a modern couple whose relationship starts with hooking up and ends with love. I love their playful banter. The forbidden element of their story made things exciting, and incredibly angsty. Seriously, them not being able to be together paired with the mystery plot had my heart clenching. It was a painfully delightful story. (lol) They obviously had a connection from the beginning but watching them grow as individuals and as a couple was lovely. Also, the nickname 'Little Red' is fucking adorable! And that ending was super cute.
The political intrigue and plot! I LOVE that we learn much more about the dark and light fae, and the added (murder) mystery element really kept me on my toes. It was so fun and I couldn’t put it down because I just had to know how things would unfold!
The smut. I’m really not into hardcore BDSM, but the scenes were done well. I never got the ick so that's always a good sign. The scenes seemed to have also been done in a proper and safe manner that aligns with the BDSM lifestyle, so that is very much appreciated.
The Bryn and Caiden cameos. I loved these two from The Dark King and was curious what life would be like for them afterwards. Turns out, it's just as crazy! I won't say more because it would spoil some things but they do play a role in this book, so get excited!
That second epilogue featuring Finnian has me salivating for book 3! I'm shook after all that new information and cannot wait to learn more about Taryn and how she's connected to Finnian!
What were my issues:
I didn’t like how Tiernan talked like a Gen Z-er. I know he's the relatable brother since he hangs out with humans all the time, but still, it was distracting and really hard to get past, especially since he's 150(?) years old. Here are some examples: "I'd fucking smash that look, no question," "bitch slap me in the face", "staying chill," "dude,". There's also a bunch of Twilight/Edward Cullen jokes which I didn't really get.
Sometimes, it felt like the plot was overshadowing the romance. I'm someone who likes both to be developed in the romance novels I read, but a lot of Tiernan and Fiona's romance was intertwined with whatever was happening politically/mystery plot-wise when I wish they had more romantic moments that would have unfolded without those outside factors. For example, the first time they 'play' is during an undercover mission at a BDSM club, and while it was hot, I wish they had an experience prior in a more private place so the moment was just about them.
I wish Tiernan and Fiona had a BDSM scene before the sex club. We knew both characters had experience with BDSM so it's not like they needed to learn about it, but Tiernan gave up the lifestyle because of a bad experience. So him being forced to do BDSM with Fiona (for the first time) in a sex club while on a secret mission just seemed contrived and cruel. Especially because he does end up having a trauma response to the entire experience, which Fiona does talk him through. But my tender heart didn't want to see him suffer, so I personally, wish their first BDSM experience had been in a safe environment without any pressure.
Occasionally, the story sometimes moved from political drama to romance so quickly it was a bit jarring. One paragraph would be politics and then next would be romance. I think it sort of aligns with my point above, but the romance moments needed some time to breath without the other angst and tension from the mystery/political plot.
Thank you Entangled and Gina Maxwell for sending me an arc copy! As always, all opinions are my own.

4.5⭐️ A toothachingly sweet and insanely sexy MM monster romance
"Man or monster, who gives a fuck. Love is love.”
WHAT TO EXPECT:
✨ humans and monsters
✨ MMC #1 is a sweet and tender Kraken who loves to paint
✨ MMC #2 is a man who's scared of monsters and feels a bit lost
✨ swim lessons for a triathlon
✨ forced proximity
✨ grumpy x sunshine
✨ friends to lovers
✨ flirty banter
✨ dual pov
✨ locker room sex
✨ sexting / video chat
✨ spicy: pleasure dom, praise, degradation, cockwarming, nipple play, tentacles
Summary:
Reece Rollins decided to sign up for a triathlon, but there are two things holding him back: his fear of monsters and his sub-par swimming skills.
After his sister's wolven mate recommends he use the olympic size swimming pool at Leviathan Fitness, Reece runs into Cyrus, who offers to help him. Cryus is a Kraken - one of the oldest and rarest of monsters. With tentacles instead of legs, he's the perfect person to help Reece train for the swim portion of the triathlon. They may come from different worlds, but they make a perfect pair. Can Reece get over his fear of monsters to see that Cyrus is the one for him?
My Thoughts:
No one is more surprised than I am by how much I LOVED this story. Seriously, I went in with zero expectations and was blown away. From the endearing characters to the spice, this definitely ranks at the top of my monster romance reads!
What I liked:
Daddy Kraken Cryus. I would die for this Kraken. He is the most gentle, sweet, loyal monster in all the land and sea. He is everything! And the fact it took him 600 years to find his mate had me crying for this sweet, sweet soul. I'm so glad Reece didn't do anything to hurt his feelings because I wouldn't have put up with that! Cy must be protected at all costs.

3 ⭐️ A good spicey paranormal Halloween read for all you daddy-dom lovers!
WHAT TO EXPECT:
✨ Witch x Demon
✨ Sassy, powerful FMC
✨ Mysterious, possessive MMC
✨ Ex-boyfriends dad
✨ Revenge plot
✨ Murder mystery
✨ Age-gap
✨ Dom/Sub
✨ Daddy kink
✨ Praise kink
✨ Consensual somnophilia
✨ Exhibitionism/voyeurism
✨ BSDM
✨ Sex Club
I really liked the overall story. The world-building - demon/witch aspects were interesting. Blair was a riot, and I loved that she was a strong and capable FMC who just wanted love and for someone to take care of her for once. Stevie was a sweetheart and, every now and then, would surprise me with some hilarious lines. And Dax was the sweetest daddy-dom simp you’ll ever meet.
I have it 3-stars for a few reasons:
I realize now I’m not into daddy-doms. The dialogue always just makes me cringe or feel icky, but that’s truly a personal preference.
Some of the sexual dialogue was just not my thing. For example, calling Dax's dick a 'fat cock' or the saying, "her pussy begins to milk me." A huge turn-off for me when reading erotica.
The story started to lose its momentum at the 40% mark, and I had a hard time giving it my full attention. The mystery plotline was taking forever to solve, so it just felt like we were going in circles and only focusing on the romance portion. And since they got together so early on in the story, the sex became incredibly repetitive to the point where I just didn’t care. I like a little more tension before the f*cking starts.
The third act wasn't all that interesting. The conflict with Mara was wrapped up too easily, which made her entire purpose in the story super lame, the big reveal fell flat, and the drama between Blair, Dax, and Ryan was resolved too easily. I think if a bit more time had been spent on the actual plot and character development instead of romance, the last part of the book would have had a bigger impact. Instead, things just sort of happened quickly, and we were to take it at face value without much of an explanation.
Overall, I’d recommend it if you’re looking for something sexy, fun, and a little adventurous this October.
