4.5 ⭐️ A freaking delight!!!
What if jerks are my kink? Well, at least it explains your unhealthy obsession with Mr. Darcy.
I was really hesitant about reading this because I did not like Lauren Asher’s Collide, but I’m so glad I gave it a shot!
Summary:
The only way Rowan and his brothers will receive their multi-billion dollar inheritance from their grandfather is if they complete the tasks laid out for them in his will. This story focuses on Rowan's journey.
Shortly after the death of his grandfather, Rowan heads to Dreamland (his grandfather's amusement park), where he has six months to identify Dreamland's weaknesses and present a plan to the board who will determine if it's a worthy proposal. The pressure is on, and Rowan can't afford any distractions.
Zahra is an employee at the park, who was recently promoted to the position of Creator (someone who shares new ideas to make the park even more successful). Her family has worked for Dreamland for many years, which makes her incredibly in touch with the employees and guests.
While Rowan is all about the bottom line, Zahra is all heart, which means many of their ideas on how to improve the park clash. However, the more time Rowan spends around Zahra, the more he starts to question what it means to run a successful business and what it means to have a successful life.
My Thoughts:
If you like the grumpy/sunshine trope, workplace romance, boss/employee dynamic, forced proximity, and billionaire romance, then this story is 100% for you!
I never read a billionaire romance and I wasn't sure if I'd like the amusement park setting, but I truly loved it! The storyline was interesting with a few twists, the romance was sweet and incredibly sexy, there's so much tension and many laugh-out-loud moments.
Rowan and Zahra are the ultimate grumpy/sunshine pair! Zahra is a freaking ray of sunshine and the kindest person you'll ever meet, while Rowan is pragmatic and has closed his heart to love because of the pain one can endure if that love is lost. So to keep people at distance, he is cold and calculating but comes off as a total a$$hole. He tries his best to ignore Zahra but he's like a moth to a flame, he can't stay away from the light. There's so much tension between these two, they're like a modern day Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet!
The banter was phenomenal. Zahra and Rowan have so much chemistry that when they're fighting or trying to hide their feelings for each other, the conversation is so charged! I f*cking loved it! Rowan is for sure an a$$ but Zahra's got some bite as well. For example:
“You better have a massive dick to back up that attitude or else people will be mighty disappointed.”
“Care to bring out a ruler and test your theory?”
“I left my magnifying glass at home, so maybe tomorrow.”
I’m pretty sure the angel on my shoulder has left the building. Something shifts between us. His eyes darken as they assess me. I’m not sure if he wants to choke me, fire me, or fuck me into submission.
“Are you always this impossible?”
“I don’t know. Are you always this much of an asshole?”
One second he’s scowling at me and the next his lips are slamming into mine.
The spice was HOT! There was so much sexual tension between Rowan and Zahra, so when they get together, it's just explosive! And their banter during s3x makes things even spicier!
Loved that this book addressed some heavier topics while also remaining lighthearted and sweet. Both Rowan and Zahra carry emotional scars from their past and throughout the story, we see them grow, help each other overcome their fears, and discover who they are/what they want.
So happy seeing realistic disability representation in this book. Zarha's sister, Ani, has Down syndrome and works at the park with the rest of her family. I love how Zarha's mentorship program was introduced and the friendship Ani and Rowan developed through it. Ani is by far my favorite side character because she tells it how it is and doesn't let Rowan get away with sh*t!
Overall, The Fine Print is a fantastic contemporary romance that's become an instant favorite! Rowan and Zahra are wonderful characters who you love together and apart. And even though they are complete opposites, they're perfect for each other. I love their chemistry, the romance, the spice, and the real growth each character undergoes throughout this story. I will recommend this to everyone I know and honestly, I might even buy the hard copy because it was so enjoyable.

It was fine. The story was cute, but I wasn't a huge fan of the format of this audiobook or the male narrator.
⭐️ Eh, it was okay. Just not my cup of tea so this rating has more to do with personal preferences.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
✨ contemporary rom-com
✨ NYC setting
✨ she's the supervisor for an apartment building
✨ he's a tenant in her building
✨ wrong number
✨ hidden identity
✨ texting/phone call friendship
✨ friends to lovers
✨ fun banter
✨ TW: PTSD, robbery with a gun, family with addiction issues, terminally ill parent
My Thoughts:
Ready or Not by Cara Bastone is one of my favorite rom-coms of all time. And since a few of her earlier books are free with my Audible subscription, I thought I'd give them a go. Unfortunately, Sweet Talk was not for me.
While I didn't really love the story, it was sweet. Elliot is so cute but too innocent and 'hot but doesn't know it' for my taste. And Jessie is supportive of those in her life, but also too lenient when it comes to her addict brother. Their phone call and text interactions were entertaining at times, but also frustrating since this is for the entire story. I am glad though that in the end, Jessie's reason for not wanting to share her identity makes sense.
I also wasn't a huge fan of the narrators. I'm writing this review a few days after listening and I honestly don't remember why I made a note of this but I did. Sorry I can't give specifics about what I didn't like.

3.5 ⭐️ If you like small town, hate to love cowboy romances, this one is definitely for you!
Hating him is easy. But if I don't hate him . . . then what?
WHAT TO EXPECT:
✨ small town cowboy romance
✨ she's just inherited her estranged father's Texas ranch
✨ he's the foreman
✨ city girl x country boy
✨ hate to love
✨ forced proximity
✨ grumpy x sunshine
✨ insta-lust
✨ delicious tension
✨ sharp banter
✨ 2.5/5 spice (mustache rides)
✨ bar fight
✨ he takes care of her
✨ found family
✨ HEA
✨ TW: death of parent, grief
My Thoughts:
I actually enjoyed this story. The characters had depth and were likable (even the side characters), the banter and tension between Cash and Mollie was fantastic, the spice was hot as hell, and bonus, there is NO THIRD ACT BREAKUP! Mollie's emotional journey surrounding her father's death was really touching, and I liked how her grief was handled. And I like that in the end, she embraced both the country and city life and didn't have to choose between the two. Instead she had a supportive partner who offered her both, and that's how it should be. Cash was a great, grumpy MMC who shoulders so much responsibility. It was wonderful watching him give up some of that control and allow himself the freedom to relax.
I do think this is a 5-star story, but my rating mostly has to do with me not quite clicking with the author's writing style. I found it to be a bit too wordy for my taste, so I ended up skimming a lot of non-dialogue (which is a majority of the book).
I also found it ridiculous how both Cash and Mollie would get super horny during every single encounter they had with each other, and mostly because of their looks alone. They took lust to a whole different level, and it was too unrealistic for me, so I definitely rolled my eyes more than a few times.
But overall, I do like this story and think it's worth the read!

3.5 ⭐️ Cute story
WHAT TO EXPECT:
✨ contemporary romance
✨ he's a retired pro baseball player trying to figure out what to do next
✨ she's his best friends little sister who no one ever takes seriously
✨ childhood unrequited crush
✨ sort of grumpy x sunshine
✨ fake dating
✨ 3/5 spice
✨ found family
✨ third act breakup
✨ HEA
✨ TW: trauma from nasty divorce, emotional abuse from parents
My Thoughts:
I liked the story! I expected to be annoyed with Georgie since she's younger and has been in love with Travis for years and is a literal clown, but I found her dedication and loyalty and carefree attitude endearing and sweet. I was rooting for her and her happiness the whole time. Travis however, was a jerk at first and it was annoying how, even though he wanted Georgie, he was so blind by his past or the fact it was his best friend's sister. The tension between them was hot though!
The biggest ick for me though was the absolutely cringe dirty talk and the unnecessary third act breakup. Seriously, if they had just talked like adults, it never would have happened.
But regardless, I had a good time listening to the audiobook and am excited to listen to the next book.
