I quit about 3/4 through. I'm sure there is a lot of stuff in this book that helps people, but I just couldn't get into it
This book was decent. It is a super detailed world building sci-fi adventure. It was too detailed for my liking. There were a lot of things I liked about this book (most of the characters, the appendices, the ending, the overall broad story) but I'm my opinion it just moved too slow.
9/10
This was a great look into the early days of SpaceX. I always knew it was a grind, but this book did a good job showing just how hard everybody there had to work.
I loved learning the history. There were a lot of things I already knew and a lot of things I didn't know.
Absolutely recommended to any space exploration fan, and even to people just looking for an exciting non fiction book

A good look at many issues that we could face in the future and possible solutions. I don't love that all of the solutions are sponsored by government, but they're isn't really another entity big enough to tackle these things
This is not a book to try to convince you that climate change is real and caused by humans. That is accepted as fact.
I liked taking a bit of a deep dive into the main categories of greenhouse gas emissions. More than just problems, this talks a lot about what kinds of solutions are needed and how interconnected everything is.
I thought it was inspiring showing the path that we can choose to take to solve this problem. I wish I worked in an industry that could be more of the solution

Minus one star for being fiction.
This one didn't come near the excitement of Jurassic park. I couldn't get over the fact that all of their calamities came from bringing a baby t Rex into their trailer. If you take that part away then none of the story happens.
I suspended my belief far enough that there are people running away from living breathing dinosaurs, but you lost me when a specialist on predators basically kidnaps a T rex baby and brings it to camp, that's too far.
Otherwise the book was decent. If the author had just come up with a better way to get the characters in the tub it would have been much better

Despite the fact that I lean left politically, I'm a big Ben Sasse fan, and this book shows exactly why.
He breaks down many of the reasons we are so strongly divided as a country and ways to help remedy this. He strongly advocates to remember that people are people rather than opponents. He's very anti tribalism.
My only critique of the book is that it is a bit too long. Her could get the message across more concisely, and this more powerfully. It seems like he gets into the weeds at times. I'm my mind the book could have been 10-25% shorter.

I really wanted to give this book 4 stars. I loved listening to old stories from the Lakota culture. I loved hearing about what their values are and imagine what life must have been like years ago.
The reason I only gave 3 stars is because I can't really remember more than a couple stories. I felt a bond with the Lakota, but my knowledge hasn't really increased, although I would say I am a little wiser thanks to this book (which is probably the better of the two qualities).

I hadn't heard of this book before getting it, but I'm very glad that I got it! It is a look inside Saudi society and the oppression that women face. I am very impressed by Manal Al-Sharif's persistence and courage. She is an inspiration.
I just wish that she had taken tone to say if anything has changed since her childhood (female circumcision, education, etc). I do, however, appreciate that she took time to talk about the current state of other issues discussed in the book. It's good that progress is being made, although maddeningly slow

Fun short little "book". I thought the characters were very entertaining and had a princess bride feel
