This was so good! It’s a husband-and-wife twisty thriller that’s a little bit different than most.

I think this book has been over-hyped, but I enjoyed it. It was a unique story and I’m a sucker for books set in the South. I thought the ending was a bit rushed and didn’t care for the way it ended, but overall, I liked this novel. I would definitely read future ones by this author.

WOW. That’s my first reaction to reading this novel. I had to research the author immediately after finishing it to see if she had lost a child because her writing is SPOT ON. Having lost a young son myself and being forced by doctors to make the decision with my husband on whether to keep him alive or let him go, I connected with this story on so many levels. Reading this was very therapeutic and comforting for me. Thank you, Clare Mackintosh, for writing something I could connect and relate to in such a way that many cannot.
