An absolute DELIGHT of a book.

I flew through this sweet romance in 12 hours, I was so consumed with these characters and this new world that I kept finding reasons to whip out my ereader and read a chapter (or 10). I loved it SO much.

I think my favourite part was how normalised the queerness of these characters was, even in a hetero presenting romance. Something that I personally think is sorely lacking in the other mainstream romance that are available to buy easily in bookstores. Lark is bi, and has always leaned towards women but when she falls for the gorgeous Logan her absolute PANIC about it was adorable. Speaking of Logan, he is an absolute sweetheart and one of my favourite male romance leads to date. There is not an ounce of biphobia here, and some really beautiful moments between Lark ans her siblings. There are so many hilarious one liners, animals with human names and humans with animal names, and general shenanigans that I'm sure everyone and their mum will love this romcom.

The world that Ali has crafted here is as beautiful as it is funny, and I cant wait to visit Prickle Island again 🦔.
(I am already in love with Finch)

Thank you to the author for an early copy of this one, it's up there in the highlights for sure 💜

Delightful, sultry and romantic. Celestial Mechanics is vibrant and full of life.

I really enjoyed this book, and what I think I loved most about it is the sheer feminine power that shines through the pages. The absolute F*ck The Patriarchy attitude of the women, it's inspiring! The elements of astronomy and science were just fascinating, and clearly well researched. I loved seeing Lucy's love for the celestial world in these pages, and Catherine's embroidery skill and eye for botany.

I loved how sure of herself our MC, Lucy, and how Catherine came to life around her. It was lovely and sweet. I loved the representation of a 'later in life' queer woman, and how patient and considerate Lucy was to Catherine as she explored these squashed down desires and feelings. The side characters too, were vibrant and full of life, adding an extra layer of relatability to the story.

I do wish we had more tension build up for Lucy and Catherine, I felt as they did fall for each other quickly considering the circumstances and would have loved it if we had some more build up.

Overall, this is a delightful historical romance and I definitely recommend.
