The Man from the Train: The Solving of a Century-Old Serial Killer Mystery
Bill James, Rachel McCarthy James
This book is so poorly edited. Often, it runs on about minutia and commonalities that would normally take a sentence to acknowledge. At some points the writing felt like being metaphorically slapped, then told "I'll explain why later." This made it very hard to read, and did not add suspense (or whatever the goal was there). Despite the content itself being interesting, it still has the claustrophobic feel of being trapped in an elevator with someone pedantically droning on about his collectible cards. I'd love to read a well edited version of this book. The connecting of all those cases is pretty durn interesting as a subject. I'll explain why in a future chapter... :-P
