Expected it to be much weirder, but I enjoyed it and can't wait to read the sequel.

There’s a lot of controversy about this book being written by a woman who is not of Mexican descent and I think it’s truly silly. The book was written beautifully and as a first generation Mexican-American I can say from visits and experiences, the depictions were so vivid and REAL. I think she did an absolutely amazing job shedding light on the realities of WHY so many immigrants make this treacherous journey for a better life. I loved this book so much and I will happily recommend it forever. Thank you, Jeanine Cummins!
