I’m reading these now that the published version is out with all the stories in one and this was the very first one! I’m— I have no words! I’ve been in love with Matthew Fairchild and James Herondale since Cassie announced the making of The Last Hours and it’s characters. This story did not disappoint, Matthew is glorious! The way he speaks and just his very being is so different then all the shadowhunters we’ve met before, his love for his family and friends is beautiful and heart wrenching! This boy is so fabulous and the life of the party but he thinks himself nothing compared to his cousins, friends, and parabatai. The consequence of this story broke my heart for the Fairchild family and for Matthew. Though the clear love Jamie has for his parabatai is something I’ve missed in parabatai‘s since Will and Jem. Ugh I’m gushing but it was glorious and the moment between Will and Jem? Lived! Also can we just talk about how Ragnor is terrified of Christopher and Matthew 😂 also Jamie got MATTHEW a DOG and he named it Mr. Oscar Wilde 😌

I have no words other than, try not to get swept up and remember it’s only a game. This was fucking brilliant

“I wish you all the best, Benjamin De Backer.”

I’ve finished my first book that I’m reading for pride month!
I’m so glad I chose I wish you all the best to be my first book I read this month and kick off my TBR. I’m no stranger to lgbtq+ reads but I’ve yet to read one that explains so much more than I ever knew about this lovely community. Having a protagonist that was Non-Binary was refreshing, I loved Ben! They are so soft and I just wanted to hug and protect them from the world. Nathan??? God Nathan lol HE WAS SUCH A PUPPY! He was my absolute favorite character, he was so loving and so understanding I just— ugh they just warmed my heart! This book made me cry, gush, squeal, and smile so hard my face hurt. I could not put it down 💙 if you haven’t read this beauty, please freaking do.

This novella was 2.5 stars for me because honestly I’ve never really cared to know more about céline but this novella made me want to know what I found out even less.

Honestly, bless the angels that Jace didn’t get to know who his parents really were because Stephen was an ass, Cèline was damaged beyond repair, resentful, and just selfish.

I get it, she had a terrible life! Her parents abused her but as Tessa stated, Jem watched his parents murdered in front of him she was literally made as a demonic weapon. They chose a different path and Cèline could have as well.

The best part of this novella was learning more about the lost herondale line so I can understand more about Kit, also the world was enthralling as always and Valentines manipulation and darkness never lets you down. Other than that?

This just made dislike Robert even more, and not care for jaces parents and good riddance they’re gone. As if that boy needed to know that he was conceived through a relationship that was technically forced.

Also poor Amatis man

4.5

Jacks deserves more

“His smile ruins me.”

Correction Tanner, this book ruined me in every possible way, and it was done beautifully. Now I’m just laying in bed with a puffy crying face because, holy shit. Masterpiece
