"You are made of dreams and this world is not for you."
See, the closer we got to CDTH release date I started panicking. This was because most of my most anticapted releases for the year really let me down, I enjoyed them but expected more. That being said I was so nervous for CDTH because for me it really had big shoes to fill after TRC.
I panicked for no reason.
This book was absolutely stunning. Maggie has one of my favorite writing styles and Call down the Hawk was even more poetic, whimsical, and heart-wrenching than TRC. I always felt as if we had been robbed of Declan because of TRC but my Declan loving thirst was quenched with this book. He's so beautifully in pain that you can feel his need of wanting a life he cannot have. It makes me want to just lay here and cry.
If you would have told me I'd go into this book and walk out with an entire new ship I wouldn't have believed you but JORDAN AND DECLAN??? I cannot even explain how fucking beautiful their moments were and if you didn't tear up at 'He didn't have it in him to love another dreamer' you're lying to yourself.
So much shit happened in this one book that left me with my jaw dropped and I HAVE SO MANY FREAKING QUESTIONS!??
Matthew finding out he was a dream – I cried so hard, just every moment between the Lynch brothers tore me to pieces. I am so glad we're focusing around their origin because I always thought they were so interesting and after this book, I need so much more Matthew!
And pynch? Never in my life did I expect those two boys to be so soft and irrevocably in love with one another. Say I love you? No let me call you my other me, my soulmate. I'm in pain thinking of Adam coming back after telling Ronan to be there when he got back from break and Ronan not being there.
Also the little Gangsey moments truly had me living! I want to see them again and honestly, I'm sure we will before the end of this trilogy.
What I did want from this book was a friendship between Hennessy and Ronan because I thought it was so unfair for him to struggle with being a dreamer alone. Maggie did not fucking disappoint me because I will die for "Don't let be the only one Hennessy" Ronan Lynch and "holding Ronan's hand and trusting him with her life" Hennessy Jordan.
Call Down the Hawk was a stunning book one, and I needed the next book like yesterday. My experience with reading this book was so wholesome and incredible as it was with TRC, I'm literally buzzing.
