Matthew spoke in a low voice. “It would be one thing if James loved her. I would go into the quiet dark like Jem did and never speak of her again. But he doesn’t love her."
By the angel am I completely taken aback with how this first book in the last hours played out. I've been loving these characters since Cassie even spoke about them to us, told us of her plans for the last hours series and never in a million years did I think it would be this. Am I disappointed? NO
I'm not a fan of love triangles but holy shit, this dynamic is killer. literally. it's going to kill me. This was also a ship I did not see coming and I'm obsessed with it, along with two other characters that I did not know would be lgbtq+ characters.
This book was wonderful and I need more, but more importantly, I need Matthew and Alastair to find their happiness.

I love that years ago when I first read this book I did not hesitate to be a hardcore Wessa shipper. Now the tables have turned, I cannot choose anymore. I love them both so much that it makes me even happier to know what has occurred in the later series for them.
