The Last Final Girl by Stephen Graham Jones

I am never going to find a good book with the “final girl” archetype am I?
- Riley Sager’s The Final Girls was okay… only he writes women in a way that shows he’s never met a Woman.
- Grady Hendrix’s The Final Girl Support Group has an INSUFFERABLE main character that was the human personification of nails on a chalkboard
And now..
- the Last Final Girl by Stephen Gram Jones. This book was annoying at BEST. You don’t need a pop culture reference every 3 seconds! Come on people please get it together…

Honestly I am just disappointed in all of them. The trifecta of final girl letdown…

Ugh this book had so much potential and was so good up until Claire was done recounting the events of her time on the ship.

I WAS SO INTERESTED in this plot the ship was so cool and the spooky-ness was great.

Then… blah. The government guys were insufferable, as government guys are, but goooodddddd it was just so unfun after the initial run through of the spooky ship.

What a fun read!! Im definitely going to continue the series. I just wish the main character wasn’t so.. useless? Idk it was like everyone else was better than her and would have done better as the protag lmao
