This book satisfied my Criminal Minds/SVU craving. I have never ready ANYTHING like this before and I was MESMERIZED!!! I was one the edge of my seat the entire time (which was dangerous because I listened to the audio book every day on my commute to work

“We could devote our lives to making sense of the odd, the inexplicable, the coincidental. But most of us don’t, and neither do I.”

This was the slowest fast paced novella I have ever read and I am OBSESSED.

This is the type of horror book that makes you so uneasy and afraid. Being trapped by someone in your own head who can control your body… terrifying.

This might be controversial… but this book and The Silent Patient are on level grounds in my opinion.

This one felt more tame as you were reading it. Almost as if it were a silly little who-done-it… but it was just as fucked up.

I mourn for Mariana. She lost everything.

Michaelides’ biggest talent is writing how devastating love can be.

This was the first time I have verbally spoken “what the fuck???” In response to a scene BUT WHAT THE FUCK!!!

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? Honestly, I didn’t see it coming. I thought at times “ it would be a fucked up story if…” but then I told myself there is no way.. just no way… BUT THEN HE ACTUALLY DID IT!!!

I really enjoyed this book and have already downloaded The Maidens to listen to. I CANT believe I had this book in my kindle library for a few years and just keep skipping over it…

”I…walked…a thousand…years…across…the dark…to find you.”

This is, without a doubt, the scariest book I have ever read. I have read quite a few horror books but none of them compare the the horror this book holds.

There is just something terrifying about a monster that preys on your love for the people around you. I would do anything in my power to help someone I loved if it sounded like they were trapped out in the cold… AND THIS MONSTER WOULD HAVE GOTTEN ME!!!

The only reason it’s not 5 stars (and it was a 5 star read up until this moment tbh) is because I hate that she defeated it by just telling it her secret. This monster killed so many people… but gave up on her when she told it to leave? I hated the resolution… great characters died for that ending.

That being said, this was a great story that was hard for me to put down! I need more creepypastas and r/nosleep turned into novels!!

I really liked the Frankenstein story and I wish it was longer! That one alone was a 4.5.. The other stories really didn’t compare tbh.
