This book was a fantastic break from the epic fantasy I have been reading as of late. I have been looking for a series to delve into and read between other books or on a Saturday afternoon, and this is perfect for that.

The application of weather terminology and concept was interesting and well-done. Sometimes books either leave it out completely leaving the reader feeling empty inside, or go into too much detail confusing us. Cain does an excellent job balancing this within the context of the story and the characters.

As with most popcorn romance, the main character was not all that likeable (i.e., Sookie Stackhouse). I found myself more indifferent to her than anything else. The other characters, though, were fantastic. I really enjoyed David and the other Djinn in the story. Many authors do not handle the flashback format well, but Cain was able to handle this with grace.

A quick read and a fun story, though not as smutty as I would have liked. Understanding there is some world-building to do in the first book of any series, I can forgive the lack of smut. I am absolutely looking forward to reading the next book in this series!
