Overall, I enjoyed this book because I really do enjoy the Lovecraft mythos. As others have said, rating a collection of short stories is challenging because some are great, some are mediocre and others leave you wanting more.
While I rated this high, I was generally disappointed with the level of erotica in these stories. The stories were entertaining, but I kept waiting for someone to take the erotica to the next level and really cross a line and take some risks. Many of these stories contained implied erotica rather than descriptive and disturbing sex scenes which is what I would expect from an erotic Cthulu short story collection. If this were left to the Japanese it would have broached the level of disturbing, which I really was craving entering into this and was left with nothing disturbing about any of it.
So who is this good for? This is an interesting and alternative introduction to Cthulu for those who may not have read Lovecraft or could not get into his stories. However, if you are expecting raw or disturbing erotica, don't look here because you will be left wanting more.

This book was completely ridiculous and fantastic all at the same time. I enjoyed the change from vampires and werewolves to something about dinosaurs. I thought the main characters were likeable, I liked the premise and I will definitely pick up the second book in this series. This book made me giggle at parts and the smut was well-done, too. Overall, a great popcorn read.
Overall, a good book. While these seem like obvious words to live by, in my opinion, I can see darker moments of my life (and others') where a book like this might have been insightful and inspirational.
