Manifesting: The Practical, Simple Guide to Creating the Life You Want by Kris Ferraro

At first this book read a little like any other book on manifestation and creating your reality but as I read through the many exercises and got deeper into the book I noticed that this book was very different.

What was so different about this book is that it did a much better job of acknowledging that sometimes things don't work out. Sometimes our manifestation gets blocked by emotion or other things. The author not only acknowledges this but she gives practical tools for processing and working through the blocks and the disappointments. It's much better than the typical advice to essentially deny anything negative or counter to what you want to create.

As a result, I think this book provides an accessible and healthy approach to the work of creating what you want in life. Rather than pushing any negative outcomes or feeling under the rug, the author encourages the reader to examine it and work with it. It feels much more whole.
Why Are Faggots So Afraid of Faggots?: Flaming Challenges to Masculinity, Objectification, and the Desire to Conform by Mattilda Bernstein Sycamore

This book was very though provoking. The various essays dealt with the issues of internalized homophobia, misogyny, and toxic masculinity in the queer community. This book challenges the idea that every queer person wants to be married, have kids or live the american dream. It makes it clear that queer identity is more nuanced and that there are many more ways to be queer and to love as a queer person than the mainstream queer story.

It challenges us as a community to not only embrace all the different expressions of queerness but to also make space for their stories to be heard.

I found this book challenging and delightful at the same time. If queer culture catering to white gay men or the frequently seen "No fats, no fems" doesn't sit quite right with you, you will love this book.

And if it does seem fine to you, you need to read this book.
The Soul of Money: Transforming Your Relationship with Money and Life by Lynne Twist

This book really is packed with some great insights into money and how we use it.

Lynne Twist first tackles the myths of scarcity and then goes into a discussion of sufficiency. She then moves deeper to talk about concepts like collaboration and legacy. Each concept is illustrated with stories from her many years working around the world with the Hunger Project.

This book really shifted some of my views around money and I think it's a must read for any spiritual seeker.
