It was very cute and sweet. A great pallet cleanser in between heavier books. Quick and easy read and a feel good story.

Wow. All I can say is wow. The writing is phenomenal. The story is so deeply impacting, even though I have never been in this position I really felt connected emotionally, living through Leni. It shows the hardships women have had to endure and how important the people around you are. It talks about the complexities of love and loss. If you’re on the fence about reading this book, do it 10000%!

Love how you jump right into it. Twists and turns every chapter keeping you on your toes. Good character development and the story moves at the perfect pace, tying it all together from beginning to end.

It’s only the second book so there’s a lot less action. I do love the character development and it might be kind of hard to keep up with all the characters and places. Had to rate it in the 2s cause my poor, poor Ned Stark.

I’m only rating it in the 3s because it’s not the best Harry Potter story. It’s the one that introduced us all into the world of wizardry and I love that but knowing from the movies what’s coming, you know how much more deep and tense the stories get later on in the series. Still a great lighthearted and cheery read.

I loveee this book. It grabs your attention right off bat and it has moments where you go “Wow, how did it get to be this way?” and once it gets explained it becomes uncomfortably obvious that we are only a couple steps behind. A dystopian banned book that, once you read it, you understand why bad people are trying to make it disappear. Great characters and a proven show that happily ever after isn’t always the outcome.

Was only here to see the differences between book canon and show canon. But learning about the conquest and the time of peace before the dance was equally as interesting. The dance was obviously the peak and it kind of fell off after that but it’s only 2 chapters. Waiting for part 2 so I can get all the juicy details about the Mad King and Robert’s Rebellion.
