I like that they got to harder hitting topics but it still languished in the middle.

Not as fast paced as her other books. I did really wonder how it would end. And an amazed how quickly she could write and then end a character with such details. And do wonder what an alternate ending would look like in her words, where I usually don't wonder about alternates.

More authors should write into this tension rather than tiptoe around it.

When I realized what the book was about, I wasn't sure. And yet I cried a lot near the end, it really touched me. And reminded me that I am the mother I am because of the hard earned years learning how to be this Mom. I am grateful that I had the time to put into it though I am definitely not perfect now by any means!

Wow, a one day thriller. All the content warnings though without giving away the plot.

It all came together rather abruptly in the end, I hoped for a little more show and not tell but appreciate the story of cleaning up the streets.

Not my favorite Center book, some storylines very similar to her others and some just unbelievable. But Parker is one of the best villains I have read in a long while.
