Coming to Part 3, it felt like the novel lost its momentum. After giving one part that had a bloody, horror-filled climax, Part 3 felt like a huge tonal shift that was disorienting and felt too much like a different book. Also, I’m unsure if the writing I did read was good, since I read the English translation. Some of the similes and metaphors just didn’t make sense, but I don’t know if this is due to the translation or if they’re this simplistic and flawed in Spanish.
