Sea of Secrets by Amanda DeWees
Sea of Secrets by Amanda Dewees is a historical romance/mystery story. It follows a girl named Oriel who is plagued to live a life with her evil father after the death of her mother (as an infant) and her beloved brother Lionel. She goes to live with her mothers side of the family when her father disowns her and finds herself in a new sort of drama. Will her life ever sort itself out?
I really enjoyed this book! I felt that the cover was captaviating as well as the story itself. I just couldn't get enough of it. From page one to the very last page I felt as if I were there with the characters feeling what they felt and finding suspisions of my own. I have read three other books by this author and enjoyed them all very much. She is an excellent story teller and I can't wait to read more from her.

Silenced by Raebeth McGee
4.0
Silenced by RaeBeth McGee Buda is a book that tells the story of a cutter named Amber. Her story is one that not many people have heard before. It is filled with emotion from the first chapter to the last page. I felt what Amber felt, happiness, sadness, and all of her pain. I really enjoyed this book although it took me to a very dark place, as I was in the same place as Amber was once before. I like how Buda shows what cutting is really like and doesn’t sugar coat anything. I feel as though this is a book parents should read to maybe catch some warning signs for their children. They may seem like the happiest children in the world but this could still be going on. I loved this story and I can’t wait to continue to the next to see what lies in store for Amber in Silenced The Overtaking. Thank you for such a great read RaeBeth!

Silenced 2: The Overtaking (Silenced Series) by Raebeth McGee-Buda
4.0
Silenced 2 The Overtaking is a young adult christian book. It is the second book in the Silenced series. In this book we pick up right where we left off with Amber the main character who is dealing with a lot in her life including the loss of her best friend. Howerver she has a secret that only her boyfriend knows, but she has begun loosing control of her emotions. Will she slip up and be found out? Is her secret safe? Will the pain ever end?
I really enjoyed this book. I read it from begining to end in around four hours. I just couldn't bring myself to put my kindle down until it was finished. I kept wanting to know what was going to happen next. I also really enjoyed the detail given to this book. This is truely some of the things that people go through with therapy. I think that this is a good read for parents as well as teens because it gives insight into mental illness and helps others to know that it is ok to get help with it. The only downside that I personally found with the book was that, for me, it was a little too preachy. However, as I have said earlier, I still really enjoyed it. I would reccomend this to any of my friends.

Rest Inn Peace by Bonnie Bernard
3.0
Rest in Peace is a very interesting paranormal young adult book. It follows the story of Corbin and his daughter Zoe as they move to the Broken Spur valley to take over the Rest Inn Peace in that was left to Corbin in his grandmothers will. However Rest Inn Peace in isn’t your usual inn. It is an inn for paranormal guest such as fairies, yetis, ghost, vampires, werewolves and the like. There is also something sinister going on here as well. Since Corbin and Zoe have moved here murders have begun to happen in this once quiet place. The question you will find yourself asking is who is it! Don’t be surprised if you find out you are wrong more than a few times!
I enjoyed this book it was entertaining and I really loved the twist at the end I can only hope that there will be more of these books to come so I can see what happens next! I think that this would be a good series for teens around 16 and up to read as well as young adults. The story flows seamlessly and it is easy to get into. I didn’t find it to be very long and I had it read in two days.

Due Dates by Kathy Clark
5.0
Baby Daddy is the first book in the series Scandal by Kathy Clark. It draws you in from the first page with its descriptiveness and powerful words. Killeen is a college student who has a lot going for her, soft ball, boyfriend, and a dream to be an Olympian. But it all gets turned upside down after a graduation party for her boyfriend Brandon and a big pink plus sign when he leaves her. Then a mysterious knock comes at her door and she soon finds herself in Texas finding out who her biological father is (now deceased) and to top it off that she has four half brothers and sisters. She and her siblings also discover that to have part of there inheritance they must work in Texas for their fathers company along with his partner Christopher. It is also here in Texas that Killeen meets her future. Will they all stay? Was her fathers death really as they say it was, or was it something more sinister?
I really enjoyed this book I read it in two days. I liked how it was modern but still had a fairy tale twist to it. I mean its not like someone shows up everyday and says I found your long lost relative and they left you a ton of money. What intrigued and impressed me the most was the impact of the words it made the story more real to me. The first paragraph of the book drew me in. I liked the descriptiveness as well but at times its seemed almost too descriptive. All in all it was a good book and I would like to read the others in the series as well.
