I have been eying this book for a while. The cover is gorgeous! So I jumped at the opportunity to read and review this! It was a very quick, enjoyable read.
Our main character is Yuki, and she can smell the dead. Not in a nasty way, each individual spirit has a different smell. I really liked her character, she was funny and quirky. She reminded me a bit of myself at that age. I also liked the relationship between her and Calvin, once it blossomed. They were a great match. I also liked the secondary characters. Yuki’s BFF, Emma, was a great friend. And Calvin’s mentor, Simon, was such a flirt. All of the characters were pretty enjoyable.
The story was creative, and the writing was simple. It was a fun book to read, and I enjoyed the mystery throughout the book. I was left with some questions at the end, but I’m hoping I’ll get answers to those when I read the next book, Spirit Storm! I can’t wait.
Overall, this is a really quick, fun read. I really enjoyed it, and am looking forward to the next book.

I finally found time to read The Power of Six, the sequel to I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore, which I read and reviewed last year for the blog. I found the book to be an interesting sequel to the series!
The book is told from two different points of view; through John, who we met in the previous book, and also through Marina, who we come to find out is Number 7. I found Marina to be a refreshing character, she was very determined to figure out her past, and to survive her future. I did feel bad for her that her Cepan had kind of given up on her duties, and that she wasn’t as well trained as John was by his Cepan. She does, however, hold her own when she needs to. We are also introduced to another member of the Garde, but you’ll need to read the book to find out exactly who it is!
I still find Six to be a very fascinating character. She’s definitely a kick-butt character, and those are my favorite kinds. But we also get to see a somewhat different side to her in this book as well. Six is definitely my favorite character in this series. I love that we get to find out her real name as well, it’s not one that you would expect from her! John, and his best friend Sam, are much the same as they are in the previous book. Poor John, he seems like one big mass of confusion through most of the book. I just wanted to give him a hug!
The storyline for this book is much the same as the previous book. The kids are still on the run from the Mogs, as well as the FBI and police, and are trying to find the rest of the members of the Garde. I love that we are given parts of the back story as well. We were able to get a better idea as to how the kids came to our planet, and how they survived when they first arrived.
Overall, I have really enjoyed the books in the series so far. I’m really looking forward to starting the next book in the series, so see what adventures we are taken on next.
Happy Reading!

This book was suggested as a book club pick. Otherwise, I don't think I would have picked it up off the shelf. This book was extremely disturbing. But it was also like a train wreck; I couldn't look away. I feel the need to scour my eyes with bleach, and then read something super happy.
I LOVE The Woman in White! Definitely a book I will re-read in the future!
Sooo... Entice picks up where Captivate left off. Zara and friends battling pixies and trying to save Nick.
This book was just as good as the previous books. I didn't enjoy having less of Nick in the book, but I have to say, Astley made up for it. Yes, I'm am leaning towards Team Astley. The only thing Nick has on him, is that Astley is a bit on the... um... sensitive side? Other than that, he was such a sweetheart, and he only wants Zara to love him!
Ok, and Zara got on my nerves just the tiniest bit in this book. I found her to be more than a little selfish in this book. And she knows it too, that doesn't help.
All the other characters are still great. I love Issie and Betty. The mom just bothers me. Devyn and Cassidy are great too.

Can't wait to get book four!

My Soul to Save is the second book in the Soul Screamers series. Kaylee Cavanaugh is a Bean Sidhe (Banshee). When some dies, she screams. But this time, when pop star Eden dies on stage during a concert, she has no urge to scream at all. That's because Eden has no soul.
I didn't enjoy My Soul to Save as much as I did the My Soul to Take, but I still really enjoyed it. The series is really like no other book I've read so far, and that's really refreshing. The characters are well thought out, and I really like them all. Kaylee is really strong. I love heroines that are like that. Nash.. well... I'm still trying to figure out if he has an angle or not. I love, love, love Tod!
All in all, I really enjoyed this book. It was well thought out and the writing was great. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!

I picked Moonlight up on a whim from the library, just looking for something different to read. It was a light, fluffy read. A little action, a little suspense, a lot of romance.
The characters were great, I would love for them to be a bit more in depth, more stories on each character. Kayla did bother me a little bit with her indecisiveness, but I guess that's to be expected from a 17 year old. Lucas was awesome. :)
I'm looking forward to starting the next book in the series tomorrow.

I really enjoyed reading Full Moon. It was yet another light, fun read. I think I actually liked it more than Moonlight. :)
I love Rafe! I also liked Lindsay's character... although she was just as indecisive as Kayla was in the previous book.
Lots of romance, a bit of action and suspense.
Cute read! Can't wait to get the next book. :)

I wanted to read The Iron King by Julie Kagawa to see what all the fuss was about. The book had gotten great reviews, and I was curious...
Well... This book was awesome! I read it in one day! Filled with action and adventure, suspense and even a little bit of romance. It kept me on the edge of my seat, and had me on pins and needles up until the end. Mrs. Kagawa's writing style is wonderful. I was completely wrapped up in the faery world she created. Her descriptions were absolutely delicious, and her explanations were well written.
I loved the main characters. Meghan is not the typical whiney heroine I read about in most books. When her brother is kidnapped, she is very determined to get him back, and will do whatever it takes. I admire that. Rob/Puck is just awesome. He's a great best friend to Meghan, but he is also the perfect third person to the love triangle.
Ash... Oh my. I just love Ash, and would totally go fangirl over him.
I love Grim! He SO reminds me of the Cheshire cat in Alice in Wonderland!
Altogether, this was a great book! I have a feeling it's the perfect beginning to a great serious. I give it 5 stars, and I'm very stingy with my stars! I can't wait to start The Iron Daughter tomorrow!

Once a Witch is book number one in the Witch series by Carolyn MacCullough. I didn't really know what to expect from this book, but I actually really loved it!
Filled with action, adventure and romance, this book is a quick read. I love the main character, Tamsin. I can definitely relate to how she feels, like she never really fits in. (Story of my life!) Her in-a-way boyfriend, Gabriel, is hot. (Tehee!) I love their relationship, watching it blossom.
This was a really great read. It definitely had me hooked, and I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
