I found this to be a very satisfying conclusion to The Housemaid Series! I actually really enjoyed this book and kept wanting to come back for more because I just couldn’t believe what was happening. Then the twist happened and my heart broke for some characters! ❤️‍🩹 But I was very happy with the conclusion and enjoyed the ride. 🫶🏼

As someone who watched the movies and just am now listening to the books, this book took this entire series to the next level for me! This was so much fun to listen to and dive deeper into the scenes. This book has me so excited for the rest of the series!

I almost DNF’ed this book… the writing is the only reason I gave it a 2. It’s well written, but predictable. For me, personally, the sex was 75% of the book and the plot wasn’t much.

How I read the book: E-Book
Romance Level: High
Ending Type: Concluded.
Thought of Writing Style: Goos
Favorite Scene: Bar Scene towards the End.
Favorite Character: Jace

I feel like this book is the child of the Mindf*ck Series and the Cat & Mouse Duet.
I really enjoyed this book! The pacing was great and the story was really enjoyable.

How I read the book: E-Book

Romance Level: High (Check Trigger Warning)

Ending Type: Concluded.

Thought of Writing Style: I really enjoy H.D. Carlton’s writing. I find it very easy to read.

Favorite Quote(s): “We’re the perfect storm, where he is the thunder, and I am the lightning.“ & “If this man were my kingdom, I’d sit on this throne for fucking eternity.“

Favorite Scene: At the beginning of the story when Enzo takes Sawyer onto the boat…

Favorite Character: Sawyer. I always love a strong FMC. At first she is struggling, then with the “help” of Enzo, she becomes such a strong woman, but i feel like Sawyer always had it in her to be strong either way. Her trauma has just caused her to cover up her strength. I am so happy for her by the end of the book.

Days it took to read: 8

How I read the book: E-Book

My Rating: 4/5

Romance Level: Low

Ending Type: Concluded for this story, but leave it open for another story to be possible.

Thought of Writing Style: Spend some time on unnecessary details at time, which then made some of the more exciting scenes feel rushed.

Favorite Quote(s): “Dean Highbottom, whom he jokingly called High-as-a-Kite-Bottom” ; “What are lies but attempts to conceal some sort of weakness?”

Favorite Scene: When Lucy Gray wins the Hunger Games

Favorite Character: Coriolanus Snow; It was very interesting being inside of his head and his internal struggle between good and bad.

What a fantastic ending to such a great series!

“Lana’s unique, and I wouldn’t change anything about her. Because now I see the world the way it really is, and I know my only place is right by her side.”

I feel like this book you get so many answers, and it really starts taking off! I can’t believe we have two more books to go and I am here for the ride!!

“I’m back, motherfuckers,” I say quietly as we pass the town hall. “And I’m going to make your life hell before I paint your town red.” ♥️
