Burn for You by J.T. Geissinger

This was kinda disappointing honestly. The book was funny and for sure a slow burn with minimal steam but I felt like the story ended so abruptly. They discovered they lived each other — the end??? I expected a bit more. Probably won’t read the rest

I was excited for a new MC read but this just wasn’t it. This story was really all over the place. Blade/Jason and Eve were just messy. I couldn’t wrap my head around this insta-love. At first I thought it may be cute but then there was no meat in the story. I have no idea what the conflict was that really brought them together ?? They actually knew nothing about each other and it seemed like Blade was gone most of the book. The h was just worried about trapping him, making sure he had no choice but to “love” her. Any time it seemed like they were actually going to be a normal couple, it was ruined. She vowed not to catch feelings and then in the same breath professed her love. She’s 18 and it shows throughout the story. He’s around 28??? There was just major holes in the plot. I don’t think I’ll continue.

This was sweet? I didn’t love it but I didn’t hate it!
I dislike a conflict that is easily solved with one conversation. This is a “my best friend’s brother” romance but the brother really isn’t involved in the story that much.
Parker and Liv fall in love in their teens. After an “incident” Liv decides to run away — leaving both of them heart broken. Parker basically settles and he is engaged to be married although he’s dreamt of only Liv for the past 5 years. Surprise surprise, Liv pops back into the picture and the magnetic pull can’t be avoided.
I liked this book because I enjoy a second chance romance but what I do not enjoy is a cheater. There is drama but as I mentioned, I hate simple conflict. Overall it was a cute read and I’m happy I got to crossing it off my TBR

This series was dark, gory and just plain hot. I started questioning my own morals while reading this. Lola is psychotic.. with good reason! I went through this series in a day. It was just on point for me. Lola is a serial killer and proud of it. She fears absolutely nothing and she's ready to go whenever the time comes. Death would be comforting. She has been chasing death ever since she left her home. Nothing has stood in her way until she kills the wrong man. She hasn't been caught exacting her vengeance until the Luciano family scoops her up. That one moment offsets a chain of events that neither she or the Luciano family could have predicted.
Lola is crazy but her men match her crazy! As terrible as her crime was, they can't seem to fight the attraction for her. I love it.
While reading this I was literally envisioning a Quentin Tarantino film. It was a BLOODY mess and really satisfying (??)I loved how Lola, Maddox, Sylvester and Viper just embraced the crazy.
"I, Lola Harding, serial killer extraordinaire, was in love with not one, not two, but three men. Not many gals could say that, I bet."
I also loved the fact this book went deep into Lola's vengeance and her blood thirst. Alternatively, it was good to see that she was human at points and that she wasn't this invincible woman with a death wish.
“Sometimes pain is the only thing reminding me I’m still alive.”
I love a good book that has a strong woman flipping the bird to the world like it's her job.
I'm also a sucker for RH and crime families, this hit the spot.
