a big thank you to @theauthoragency and Ellie K. Drake for an Advanced Copy of this story. This hockey romance is the perfect balance of comfort themes and predictability with well written, intriguing characters to keep you interested. Olivia and Hayes insta-love story is so sweet and I loved seeing Olivia discover her confidence through Hayes support. the ending was satisfying and I'm excited for book 2 and Maggie's story.

Apples Dipped in Gold by Scarlett St. Clair

2.5

Apples Dipped in Gold is a reimagining of classic fairy tales with a dark twist. The story follows Samara, an orphaned girl who finds herself in a perilous situation at the hands of her cruel brothers. Lore, a mysterious and powerful figure, becomes her unlikely savior.
While the premise is intriguing, the execution falls short. The story feels rushed, with many plot points introduced but not fully explored. The rapid shifts between fairytale tropes can be jarring, disrupting the flow of the narrative.
Despite these shortcomings, the book is still an enjoyable read. The characters are well-developed, and the romantic tension between Samara and Lore is palpable. However, the lack of depth in the plot and the abrupt ending leave something to be desired.
While the book has its moments of magic and intrigue, it ultimately falls short of its full potential. It’s a quick and enjoyable read, but it lacks the depth and complexity of the author’s other works.

Ornamental by Adrian Blue

Ornamental by Adrian Blue is a short novella that, while well-structured, left me wanting more. The premise is intriguing, but the execution felt rushed and lacking in detail. I found myself relying on the synopsis to fill in the gaps in the story.
While the concept of a monstrous protector is appealing, the execution fell short for me. I struggled to connect with the characters and the world-building felt underdeveloped. The pacing was uneven, with some parts feeling rushed and others dragging.
If you're a fan of short, quick reads and don't mind a lack of depth, Ornamental might be worth checking out. However, for those who prefer more substantial stories, this novella may not be the most satisfying read.

Monster Pucker is a delightful and quick-paced monster romance that delivers on all fronts. This novella introduces us to a unique MMF fated mates dynamic featuring a plus-size FMC and two hockey player MMCs.

I particularly enjoyed the confidence and assertiveness of the FMC. She’s a strong and independent character who knows what she wants.

If you're looking for a fun and sexy read, I highly recommend Monster Pucker. It’s a perfect blend of kinky romance, humor, and a touch of the supernatural.

Bonded to the Beast by Sarah Spade is the third interconnected standalone in the Sombra Demons series. This book offers a great balance between darker themes and comforting vibes in a way I find unique to monster romances.
Sarah Spade's writing style is engaging and immersive, drawing readers into the story and making the characters feel like old friends. The fast-paced narrative is driven by the characters' interactions and their evolving relationship. equal amounts.
I found the juxtaposition of Kennedy and Shannon's responses to their mates, particularly regarding residency, to be fascinating. Their contrasting personalities and perspectives offer a dynamic and engaging dynamic to the series.
The Sombra Demons series has consistently impressed me with its well-written romances. Bonded to the Beast is no exception, offering a perfect balance of lust and love. I'm eagerly anticipating reading the remaining books in the series.
