Stolen: The True Story of a Sex Trafficking Survivor by Katariina Rosenblatt, Cecil Murphey

I was skeptical of this being that it was of a Christian publication, but this book tore my heart apart.... in a good way! as hard as it was to read this, I'm glad I did. such an eye opening read for those who don't know OE understand the sex trafficking industry!

I tried reading this months ago when the movie came out. For whatever reason I just couldn't get into it. Then, I watched the movie for some sort of inspiration to spark to make me want to try it again. ...
I have to be honest, this book was super painful to get through the first 150-200 pages. I think I would have really liked this written from first POV.. which I believe was part of the issue I had. Since I watched the movie first, in the back of my mind I was comparing the book to the movie and it killed me being able to pay attention to details. Once I got past a certain point I was able to get into the book because I realized the movie was fairly different from the book. I will probably still read the other books, but definitely before I see the movies.

I can't finish this. Not only am I bored with it, but there has been no character development or much of a story told. The love triangle thing has been done so many times, and horribly at that, that I usually stop reading a novel when it comes down to that tired plot line. The references to pop culture were over done. making it seem like the author wanted Gemma to seem like she actually had a personality without actually giving her one. She was self-deprecating and annoying.
Over all, I would like my two bucks back and the few hours I wasted on reading this. If I could give zero stars, I would.

I honestly did NOT like this book. at. all. I feel like pretty much felt that most of this book was unnecessary.
